The new Hasbro Star Wars toys have something for all ages #Giveaway

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Hasbro. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for my participation Our children are excited to see Star Wars. I state the obvious. However, since they’re only 4 and 6 years old it will be a couple years before they see the new one.  They’ll keep watching The Clone Wars to get their Jedi skills up to par and have already started double teaming us for some of the new Star Wars toys. We got a chance to play with Bop It! Star Wars R2-D2 Edition Game, Electronic Catch Phrase Star Wars Edition Game and Star Wars Loopin’ CHEWIE Game. I suspect that the Force was with them because they found the super secret hiding area where I keep things before they’re photographed. Like kids in the proverbial Star Wars candy shop, they got to play with them and here’s how your kids will like them. The new Hasbro Star Wars toys have something for all ages #Giveaway

Editing easy with the new Adobe PhotoShop Elements + Premiere Elements 14

We were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own and we do love a good photograph. I hear Adobe and I think beautiful photography editing. It’s the impossibly lush pictures that I could never produce because of its complexity and I haven’t got the time to learn another new program.  It is that thinking that led to Adobe PhotoShop Elements + Premiere Elements 14. It is designed for casual picture takes that get great images, but also need to have element edited out, camera shake or any number of filters and other things added to the pictures.

These are the three items at Best Buy that you need to save money #ad

We were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own and we really do like faster downloads, streaming TV, saving money and watching live TV. My wife and I are a great team and we each know our role. She’s the type that is less likely to start something while I’m the one that is less likely to complete a project. Know your role. Knowing that about us, I just completed three tasks from start to finish that will save the family money, entertain us more, frustrate us less and it all took less than one hour to accomplish. We installed a Nest Learning Thermostat, Netgear Nighthawk DST Router with DST Adapter and Sling TV; all from Best Buy, with each one doing amazing things.

Holding onto 5 years old

One of the fabulous things about being a parent you don’t realize until you’re a parent. Sure you can talk about love, responsibility, someone to mow the yard in 10 years, future generations and such. But for us, it’s akin to describing why you like chocolate to someone without any taste buds. As our oldest turned 6 years old we noticed the way that he was dealing with getting older, even at his tender age.

Children have toys. Sometimes they have too many toys. The toys that are no longer challenging or simply meant for a younger age are toys that get under our feet, jam up bedrooms and the like that children never, ever want to part with.

The LEGO Adventure Book, Vol. 3, mid to advanced fun brick projects to do and view

Excuse me as I get into my grumpy middle aged man voice. When I was growing up there were no LEGO sets. It was only bricks; very few of them curved and they were only red, white and blue. Now you can create all manner of branded ships, characters, houses and fortresses. But what about the free range builders? Occasionally I’ll look at bulk LEGO collections on eBay. This is the free range, creative building that I do in my imagination and is on full display in The LEGO Adventure Book, Vol. 3.

Super Genius First Words is sight word reading fun

We have a sight reader in the house now. We know that he can read certain words, but he needs to gain the confidence to say the sight words that he knows aloud.  He has had some sight word cards in the house for years and is just starting to see why they’re important. Blue Orange provided us with a set of Super Genius First Words so that we could let our young reader at them.

Here are the basics about Homegating with HH Gregg

Can you smell what it is that you’re cooking? To paraphrase The Rock, that is one of the most important reasons why homegating was preferred over physically going to the game. Homegating is staying at home and watching the game. HH Gregg, a large retailer of electronics, appliances and furniture conducted a study on tailgating vs. homegating. 70% of people said that they’d rather homegate, instead of physically going to the game. No place can take over for the sheer experience of a stadium; however, your big screen television, home grilled food, creature comforts and the money that you saved on tickets make a compelling argument to get on the homegating bandwagon to say at home in your fan cave.
