Counting on Lemonade: sharp animation and varied educational methods from LeapFrog

We were provided with a copy for review purposes.  All thoughts are our own.

LeapFrog Letter Factory Adventures: Counting on Lemonade continues the re-opened factory with Leap and pals teaching preschoolers about basic concepts.  LeapFrog has done math in a couple of previous releases including Math Adventure to the Moon, Numberland and Numbers Away.   Counting on Lemonade spends a little too much time on the plot, but once it gets down to education it is much better than its predecessors.

Test driving the Ford F-150 during our working staycation

We were compensated to review and drive this vehicle.  All thoughts are our own. As a family we have big and small things, as well as growing people that are carted around every day. Certainly there are days when we need a truck and the massive amount of storage space.  There are big things that I didn’t pick up when we tired the Ford F-150 that I’m kicking myself for.  Our experience with the 2014 Ford all new F-150 is that it’s a big truck that can do lots of hauling and typical truck stuff, but also has the safety and creature comforts that one expects from a family vehicle.

Hey Arnold! the complete series available on DVD at Walmart

If you watched Nickelodeon in the mid to late 90’s you probably saw some of Hey Arnold!  The exclamation mark at the end is intentional and this cartoon is aimed at the demo that loves what Nick does-with a hipster West Side Story style beginning.  Arnold, the football headed fourth grader is back on DVD with the complete series now available at Walmart.

Whistlefritz French For Kids, On Va jouer DVD review & giveaway

Wait, you said that you were listening to Spanish with your kids, what’s up?  We are indeed listening to the Spanish program that Whistlefritz has, but I also want our children to know bits of French.  Once you get past the pronunciation the two languages have lots in common and the best way to learn a language when you’re a child is through exposure, immersion and repetition.  Whistlefritz , On Va Jouer (Let’s Play) has many of the songs that are on Allons Danser, the French for kids music CD.

Cooking with El Yucateco hot sauce #SauceOn #Shop

This shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.  Being the stay at home parent we go to Publix at least 3 times a week.  I cook all of the meals for the family and sometimes a new recipe is as simple as adding hot sauce to it.  Hot sauce recipes, when used correctly can add flavor and taste.  The goal when cooking for us is a balance of adding new flavors for the boys and adding a little heat for my wife and me.

I partnered with and was compensated by Life of Dad and Snyder’s of Hanover for this promotion.  Summertime has peaks and valleys when it comes to children and snacking.  Naps and schedules go the way of the dodo because of camps, activities and the somewhat normal ‘life’ that has to happen. Snyder’s of Hanover is having America’s Summertime Favorite Sweepstakes; it’s a chance for you to win $10K towards your ideal summer vacation.

Bug-A-Salt fires salt and your flyswatter to kill flies dead-giveaway

The Bug-A-Salt is a very clever product, with a great name that should only be used by adults.  That is worth mentioning because our oldest loves, absolutely loves to chase flies around the house with a flyswatter.  Hilarity ensues, but the fly always wins as he goes off to tell his friends about our wonderful garbage.  The Bug-A-Salt is a pump activated device that fires salt when you pull the trigger.  Flies die, there is no splatter and you feel like Private Hudson from Aliens.

Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light 2 is super simple & light-giveaway

Growing up my father used to say “you’re not holding your mouth right”, when I was trying to do something but not succeeding.  It was always a seemingly simple task that proved frustrating because it looked like it should be happening, but wasn’t.  Putting up a pack and play is like that, especially the middle bar that folds in half.  Enter the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light 2.  Coming in at only 11 pounds it’s the lightest, easiest travel crib we’ve ever used.
