We’ve been compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.  Three seemingly unconnected things are at the T junction of parenting and/or holidays.  It’s also at the intersection of fun, regardless of if you have kids or not J. You drive, you listen to music and you play games.  XBOX One, the JBL Flip 2 and the Tom Tom Go 50s are all things that you need (or really want) and right now Best Buy is sleighing the season with deals.

With TuneIn I travel to Japan, France-anywhere, without leaving home

I have partnered and was compensated by Life of Dad, LLC and TuneIn for this promotion I’m kind of a radio snob.  I worked in radio for many years and am thankful that I don’t work there anymore.  Pick a style of music, any music and it repeats and repeats-every 4-5 hours with a key couple of songs.  I love most forms of music too, but my ears crave new sounds.  To make matters more challenging I’m a music worker and am more productive when music is in the background.  TuneIn is the app that brings me back to radio, makes me thankful for aspects of it and allows me to travel the world from my smart phone.TuneIn App and their selection

Star Wars Command: small figures, big detail, great fun

When I was a kid I played with little green Army men.  I also grew up when Star Wars was released.  The toys in 2014 have finally combined two of my favorite things as a child in Star Wars Command Millennium Falcon.  It has 33 vehicles and figures including three AT-ATs, Snowtroopers, Snowspeeders, Rebel Soldiers and more.

The Pop Ups: Appetite For Construction, for children and beyond

Some children’s music is only for children, it’s the music that you play when you’re driving that makes you yearn for a bug to fly in your ear.  To an extent it is all about the kids being happy when they’re in the car.  The latest release from The Pop Ups firmly plants the music in your head, never lets go and is enjoyable from start to finish for many reasons.

The Chicco ACTIV3 Stroller review

The maze of figuring out what stroller to purchase can be really confusing.  The jogging strollers look the coolest to some, but may not be able to accommodate the baby carrier.  A combination stroller of sort is the Chicco ACTIV3 Stroller; it works with children 6 months old to 50 pounds and is good for everyday use, as well as more active occasions.

Animal Tales by Key Wilde & Mr. Clarke-it’s all ages music you want to hear

Children’s music can send shudders up the spine of people.  It’s too sleepy, dopey, boring or just too much childlike to interest the children, much less the adults who are driving the car.  I am a children’s music novice, but I’m learning that there is some fabulous music out there for children and the adults who will be around them when said music is on.   Key Wilde & Mr. Clarke is a great example of children’s music that kids will want to listen to and that adults will (really) enjoy listening to as well.

CatDog, the complete series hits DVD exclusively at Wal-Mart

Millennia from now when people dig up entertainment time capsules from the 90’s they might, depending on the size of the capsule, find the complete series of CatDog in there.  CatDog aired on Nickelodeon from 1998-2005 and has that look of Ren and Stimpy without being as crude, for better or worse.  It’s the tell-tale animation that looks distinctive, rough and usually has characters with lots of moxie.

Adventure Time: Season 4 on Blu-ray, magical, wonderful weirdness

Adventure Time: The Complete Fourth Season comes out on Blu-ray  and DVD on October 7.  We don’t have cable so I had never seen it prior to receiving the DVD. I was familiar with the name due to comic books, but was unfamiliar as to how large of a presence they have. However, just a look at the show makes me realize that this is something that I should like.  I asked the neighborhood boys who are 7 and 10, if they liked Adventure Time.  I was met with a resounding YES and they are not alone after watching it.
