Create 2 Destroy: vote, build, have fun, vote and win

So recently we participated in a campaign with Crayola and Create 2 Destroy.  They provided us with a Create 2 Destroy set and asked us to let a rampaging 4 year old (and me!) create things and destroy them with  a dinosaur and rock throwing volcano.  Yes, it’s a voting then-but the punch line is, if our video has the most mojo then we’ll give away 10 Create 2 Destroy sets.

Here’s our video.  If you think it rocks then you can follow the link and vote, remember it’s a vote for us and for you (we say in our best cheesy politician voice).

Lloyd and the Bear #2 continues the greatness from its first issue

A couple of weeks ago I discovered one of the most promising all ages comics that I’ve seen in a while.  Lloyd and the Bear is like Calvin & Hobbes in space.  Despite my clunky analogy, it’s original, in brilliant full color, appropriate for all ages and enjoyable for adults.

At a LeapFrog LeapReader parent party all the kids win #Ad

I was given the chance to host a LeapFrog LeapReader, “Ready, Set, Read & Write Party.  As the host of the party I was provided with some product and the responsibility of being the ringleader for a group of 4 year olds.  That job was made much easier because the LeapReader is very intuitive for children ages 4 and up to use almost immediately.

The age old quandary of school parents is how can my school raise money?  Selling products that you don’t need leaves a bad taste in your mouth, both metaphorically and in real life.  Georgia Natural Gas is raising money for local schools by doing what they do, providing natural gas.  Signing up #TrueBlueSchools is simple, doesn’t add to your bill and can raise real money for your Atlanta school fundraiser. Joovy Bicycoo Balance Bike review: Stylish, helpful and kids love it

What kind of freak would steal pedals to a children’s bike, I thought to myself when I first saw the Joovy Bicycoo Balance Bike.  It was then explained to me that the pedals were never there and that a balance bike helps young children learn and practice their balance.  Why can’t children just learn by falling off their bike the way that I did, my old school self said in my inner monologue.  Enter the Joovy Bicycoo Balance Bike, a product you may not think that your toddler needs, but they do. The Pocket Hose review: cheap design and easily broken

I have an unwritten rule:  Never, ever buy anything that I see “As Seen on TV”.  If that product makes it to the store, then I might give it a shot.  Enter the Pocket Hose, it seems logical that it should work, my traditional hose is heavy and this is only $20, so I’ll give it a shot.  Alas, this pocket hose review does not have a happy ending as two of them broke within one week of use. Win an autographed copy of Standing Up by Director D.J. Caruso

Standing Up is the film adaptation of The Goats, a popular young adult book that was written in 1990.  It’s an anti-bullying film that follows the adventures of two tweens who marooned on an island by a group of bullies.  The two kids are embarrassed and instead of going back to camp, go on a 3 day adventure.

While the story may sound rote for us adults, let’s remember that this is meant to be a film that’s enjoyable for kids under 16.  However, watching the trailer for Standing Up my wife got a bit teary eyed, then encouraged at the happy parts and at the end commanded me to get this movie.  Continue reading Win an autographed copy of Standing Up by Director D.J.
