The Deck by SOL Republic X Motorola Bluetooth speaker review

The Deck by SOL Republic is their first Bluetooth speaker.   Back in the day I had speakers that were 4’ tall, massive black and tan things that weighed 30 pounds each.  They were a different kind of speaker.  The Deck by SOL Republic provides outstanding sound, weighs about 2 pounds and has a couple of neat features that you wouldn’t expect.

MicroTouch ONE razor is an school shave in many ways, most of them not good

As a bald man I shave a lot.  I shave my head, I shave my face and we’ve got a body shaver for those times when I hit the beach and don’t want to be mistaken by a hunter during bear season. I’ve never had a Duck Dynasty or ZZ Top style beard, but I bet it’s one I could do with ease.  The MicroTouch ONE is the modern version of the classic safety razor.    For my shave it’s a step up from waxing but not quite as good as how we’re doing it now.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids Edition review: great tablet for safety and learning

Our four-year old boy loves the family tablet.   It was a handy potty training device and quite useful when on road trips. However recently it has become an issue because of one word: YouTube.  One day he discovered an ‘R’ rated, unauthorized version of a cartoon that he loves.  We were in the same room and turned it off immediately; but it was apparent that the learning aspect of tablets comes with a side that we don’t want him to be exposed to.  Enter the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.  It was created by someone who needed a kid’s tablet while not worrying about the wrong kind of barnyard video spoiling the fun.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates Shipwreck Beach Treasure Hunt Game review

As the dad to a 4 year old we know Jake and the Never Land Pirates.  And by know I mean love, he loves the characters and we don’t even have cable.  He gets all of his Never Land knowledge from friends and his one trip to Walt Disney World.  Jake and the Never Land Pirates Shipwreck Beach Treasure Hunt game is a game that combines matching, a little bit of sleuthing and physical activity.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Flying Attack review

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be very big in 2014. In addition to the cartoon on television the rebooted movie comes out and you’ll be hard pressed to not see a ninja turtle on a 7 year old boy.  You’ll also see a flurry of games including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Flying Attack! that we were sent for review purposes.

Relaxing with the new Wahl Hot/Cold Massaging Gel Pack #Ad

I received a Wahl Massager product for the purpose of this review. This post was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.  I like to relax.  Staying at home with two young boys I need to relax.  Sometimes the two are difficult to rectify and are more likely than not at opposite ends of what can possible happen.  I have a heat pad, it’s the circular thing that you microwave for: 90 and then lay on it.  The new Wahl Hot/Cold Massaging Gel Pack takes the circular thing and makes it seem quaint and old school by doing two simple things.

A Little Bit of Oomph! is spirited, creative fun for all

A Little Bit of Oomph is the latest book by Barney Saltzberg.  It’s a sequel of sorts to Beautiful Oops!, a book that explored the possibilities of things that can happen when you make a mistake.  A Little Bit of Oomph! takes that lesson of learning and simply asks the question what would happen if you did it just a bit differently?

The Transformers Construct-Bots are buckets of buildable fun

When I was a kid I loved building things with by blocks.  Back then I had a square box with red, white and blue blocks and the only things I could make were buildings or vehicles with square wheels that weren’t attached.  Of course that time was the late 70’s, things are much different now and KRE-O is morphing the scene with Transformers Construct-Bots.
