Dad reads Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith: Spiral

It took me a while to warm up to the Star Wars comics, but I’m enjoying them now.  Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith-Spiral takes places when The Old Republic is peacefully governing the galaxy.  The only trouble that can be found are the battles between the Jedi of old and the Sith. Operation Storm is vivid, approachable history at its best

The Hunt for Red October is based on a true story.  What if there was an even bigger story out there involving submarines; that is 100% true and would’ve altered the course of the world had things not happened?  Imagine a super submarine, capable of carrying aircraft and that is a game changer.  That is exactly what the Japanese built and had deployed just before WWII ended. Mr. Joe: Tales from a Haunted Life is not spook-tacular

Mr. Joe is the true story about Joseph Barnett.   Early in the book we learn that he sees the peaceful looking head of his recently deceased grandfather in a mirror; and then the apparition follows him down the stairs.  However, this isn’t just about a man that sees ghosts, it’s about his life, background and the struggles that a single dad has. The Soul of Anime by Ian Condry is a must read for 2 niche groups

My title sounds like a slam, but I don’t mean for it that way.  The Soul of Anime:  Collaborative Creativity and Japan’s Media Success Story is a fascinating read about the culture of anime and how it came to flourish in Japan.  Thus it may come as no surprise that people who like anime or Japanese culture will love this book. G.I. Joe: Cobra-Oktober Guard is enjoyable noir Spy

This month is turning into all Joe all the time.  What with the movie (a sequel has already been green lit!) and me reading G.I. Joe: Cobra-Oktober Guard I’m all but casting my left hand into a kung fu grip.  Oktober Guard is a different kind of Joe graphic novel, which is a great thing, especially after my last experience. Go Joe, ways to honor the military

This week is a busy one.  In addition to the work that must be done, I’ve got a couple of meetings and movies that I’m going to.  The movie that I’m most jazzed about seeing is definitely G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  Obviously, that’s a fictional movie that is geared towards entertaining people.  However, there are countless ways for you to help our heroes at home and abroad. A review tail of 2 bunny books: Billy Bunny and Counting Bunnies

With Easter just around the corner we were given the opportunity to take a look at two books about bunnies.  Easter bunnies that is, all hopping happy and here to make small children smile with delight.  More Mojo is 1.5 YO and 3YO Mojo both love books so we gave it a go.  The results were mixed, but neither one left us with a lump of charcoal in our Easter egg. All Through My Town is the go-to children’s book in the house now

I love to read.   3YO Mojo likes to read too.   In a perfect world I’d have enough time to have a site devoted exclusively to comic and children’s books.  I state that to preface the fact that our son likes books but is picky and certainly has his favorite books.  Having said that;  All Through My Town by Jean Reidy has been his go-to book ever since he picked it up.
