New All Age Comics for Wednesday, May 6, 2015

It’s new all age comics day again and it looks like folks are still reeling from Free Comic Book Day. Things are a little skinny, but there are still some great all age comics, that are brand new-in store this week.  Of note this week to us is Regular Show #23.  This comic is so bizarre at first, but then really funny.  That was our reaction to the television show too, now we get both of them and they’re fabulous.

It’s also a great week for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles who have three new releases and the new, revamped Walt Disney Comics on IDW.  This week Donald Duck returns with all new adventures and Uncle Srooge #2 hits shelves also.  These comics are thick, feature all new stories and have classic artwork.

The links will take you to Things From Another World and will save you 10% or more on comics.  If you want to head out to your local comic book store and pick these up today then dig the link, find out where yours is located and get your kids reading some all age comic books.

Wallace & Gromit: The Complete Newspaper Strips Vol. 3 review

I was relieved when both of our children let me know, in their own unique way that they liked Wallace & Gromit.  Wallace & Gromit is our DVD comfort food.  Whenever the streaming is slow or our kids need a treat we’ll put in one of their shorts or movies so that we all can chill.  As we live on this side of the pond we only recently discovered that they have a daily comic strip too.  Titan Comics compiles these daily comic strips and the third volume has just been released.

My Little Pony: Fiendship is Magic #2 review

My Little Pony has a couple of titles in their lineup and our 5 year old likes them. We highlight them on the list of new all age comic books and this month they’ve got an event that’ll introduce many new fans to the dark side of Equestria. Our experience with the ponies in Equestria is limited, so to know that there are so many villains in the series encourages us for future issues.

Sleepless Knight is a classic young reader (comic) book

Sleepless Knight is the kind of book that I would’ve devoured when I was a young reader. I grew up reading Peanuts, comic books, Calvin and Hobbes, grown up books without illustrations and then started over again. Most of the text and illustrations in Sleepless Knight can be read by some children 6 and up and certainly 7 and up.

New all age comic books for Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Spring means it’s comic book season time! OK, any season is comic book season time and today there are some cool all age comic books for all the young readers (and up) to get excited about.  Groo vs. Conan trade paperback , Shinobi Ninja Princess trade paperback, Simpsons Illustrated #16 and Lumberjanes trade paperback Volume 1 all come out this week.

Also of note is Wallace and Gromit: Comic Strips Collection Volume 3.  We’re taking a look at this now and will review it tomorrow.  The humor translates to a three-panel strip very well for our favorite cheese loving dog and his aloof master.

New all age comic books for Wednesday, March 25, 2015

It is one of the busiest weeks for new all age comic books in a while. The titles are spread out evenly between some great graphic novels like Ben 10, Ultimate Spider-Man Web Warriors and Regular Show to quality single comics like Abigail and the Snowman, Adventure Time, Bart Simpson, Popeye and more.

Two new releases this week that we’re curious to see are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Jen and the Holograms.  The first is a mini-series that left us skeptical at first, but if they can make entertaining movies with Pirates of the Caribbean, then why not this?  The second looks like a nice all ages comic, a la, Josie and the Pussycats, but we’ll give it a look over and let you know.
