A study came out this past week with the dubious conclusion that men who have smaller testicles are better fathers. Those findings certainly make for lots of clever headlines and puns involving balls, nads, lads, dads, festival, technical, ethical and the upcoming election. However, when you dig into the study it leaves room for many questions. This caused me to make up a study that came to the conclusion that women with smaller breasts are better mothers.* Continue reading Lad’s nads and women with smaller breasts are better mothers

So, Ben Affleck is Batman. Outrage, shock, reason, pity and acceptance, it was the 5 stages of actor casting that geeks and fans go through. The Avengers 18: Infinity is a massive, entertaining storyline
Marvel Comics just started the Infinity storyline. Essentially, most of the Marvel superheroes are in outer space with literally every living being. An evil alliance called The Builders has been created and is destroying worlds. In The Avengers 18, Earth’s superheroes suit up, team with a couple of The Builder and try to crack some heads. Fatherhood will resonate with parents, especially dads, but that’s it
If Jingle All the Way took out the seasonal aspect, upped the drama and had only one character it would look like Fatherhood. Fatherhood is a one issue comic by Ryan K. WWE Champion John Cena grants a wish on the Australian tour
I understand how and why people like the sports or entertainment that they do. It’s what they enjoy and takes them to a place where they can yell, hoot, be quiet or however it is they enjoy themselves. Professional athletes are not role models-they play sports; but are all too often confused for role models by the media or their younger fans. WWE Champion John Cena goes against the grain and manages to be both a role model and an athlete. Continue reading WWE Champion John Cena grants a wish on the Australian tour
Too Much Coffee Man Favorites #3 is gleefully manic
Somewhere aligned with the single pane of The Far Side and the four panes of Life in Hell sits Too Much Coffee Man. The nonlinear humor in Too Much Coffee Man is similar to Far Side, yet it has the same recurring characters, much like Life in Hell. Is Too Much Coffee Man funny? You bet, it was one of the first independent comics I purchased in the early 2000’s and still packs buckets of wit with sublime, detailed illustrations. The Conjuring, very scary thrills-and a great film
Rare are scary films that are good. More often than not it’s just violence, creative (sick) ways to murder and most recently torture porn. The “Saw” type movies that were popular in the mid 00’s weren’t really scary, just had moments of tension. The “found footage” movies that were trendy after that weren’t scary either, just mildly surprising. The Conjuring is a throwback movie that is genuinely scary-without being bloody, has strong characters and succeeds in going past the genre and actually being a great film. Floating Bunnyhead #1 is a weird, creative comic book 15+ will dig
From its title, Floating Bunnyhead could be thought of as a comic book that’s OK for young readers. Once you dig into Floating Bunnyhead you realize that it has more in common with South Park and to an extent, The Simpsons. Think Aqua Teen Hunger Force and you get an idea of the humor and subject matter of Floating Bunnyhead. This comic book is not appropriate for young readers, but it is fabulous, creative, weird fun that teens and up will enjoy.
