Let out your inner Ingall-win Little House on the Prairie, Season 2

Everyone has television shows that they grew up with that triggers memories from when they were a kid.  It’s the show that, when placed against today’s television seems for the most part better, more wholesome and really embodied family entertainment. Mention family television to moms and dads of a certain age and the one show that they’ll mention is Little House on the Prairie.  The classic show about the Ingalis family experiencing life on the American frontier in the 1870s is what generations of people grew up with.

Star Wars Day is May 4th-here’s how we’re going to celebrate

Every year on May 4this Star Wars Day.  Like some people need an excuse to watch any of the Star Wars movies or look at the comics.  Our kids are still a bit too young to watch Episode 4: A New Hope, or just Star Wars to the OG’s.  Next year we’ll celebrate by watching that, but in the meantime I’ll celebrate by showing our 4 and 2 year olds some of the original Star Wars stuff that I had when I was a kid. How we're planning to celebrate Star Wars Day   Continue reading Star Wars Day is May 4th-here’s how we’re going to celebrate

Guardians of the Galaxy #14-still my fave comic on the market

I purchased Guardians of the Galaxy #1 on a whim last year on Free Comic Book Day.  If I’m getting all of these free comics, I might as well try a couple new comics just to see how they are I thought.  That was a great move because Guardians of the Galaxy has been the best comic that I’ve been reading this past year.  Issue #14 just came out, it’s a great issue and an excellent jumping off point for folks wondering what all the fuss is about.

Skyward #6-action oriented all ages comic that you’ll like too

Skyward #6 manages to straddle the line between fable, fairy tale and action so perfectly you don’t know exactly how to define it.  I hesitated calling it all ages comic because it’s so entertaining and has so much action.  But after re-reading it I couldn’t find anything that would be scary to a 5 year old or objectionable for their parents. It’s a cool all ages comic book that any age can read, enjoy and want to share with their children or dig into it solo.

Marvel Creativity Studio Deluxe Stylus giveaway and review #Bpopevents

I still read comic books.  A friend of mine from college writes for a couple major comic books now and reading his material makes you realize that it is not easy to write good stories for that medium.  Drawing is an entirely different skill.  I’ve been able to doodle, but that’s it.  The Marvel pen won’t do much to improve my drawing abilities to where I’m on par with today’s comic book artists, but it is great fun to use.

Growing up Rudy the Rabbit, win a 55′ LG TV and the #BigGameChallenge

In summer after the sixth grade I was still looking for a sport to play.  One day while playing neighborhood football I caught a kick off and ran for a touchdown.  This was now my game.  I lifted hard that summer, drank raw eggs and exercised lots but didn’t play football oddly enough.   Late that summer I played football again.  I caught the ball, ran and got hit-hit hard.  It may not have been a hard hit, but it was enough for me to realize that I didn’t like getting hit and needed to find another sport.  Thankfully at that time a young upstart comedian was in a movie called Meatballs that would show me the sport that would define my teen years.
