Usagi Yojimbo #145, detail rich, indie cred and all age comic awesome

This was our first introduction to Usagi Yojimbo for sale and for good reason because the comic was on a three year break. Welcome back and it’s a great time to discover this fabulous comic that is an example of what an all age comic should be. Usagi Jimbo is a 2015 Eisner Award Nominee and one of NPR’s best books in 2014. After checking out this one issue it’s easy to see why it has garnered such acclaim.

New All Age Comic Comic Books for May 20, 2015

This is a great week for all age comic books because it marks the return of two classics, a camp classic, a modern classic and lots of new comics for young readers. Our favorite book of the week is Simpson’s Summer Shindig, closely followed by Peanuts, Usagi Yojimbo and Lumberjanes.

The two classics this week are Donald Duck #1 and Pogo.  An argument could be made for Groo: Friends and Foes as being the classic (and if you grew up with Mad Magazine-then yes it is), but that’s a post for another day. Lumberjanes is a great book that will appeal more to young girls than boys and #14 from that great series comes out this week.

There is also the camp classic Saved By The Bell coming to tradepaper back with updated adventures from Bayside’s most timeless.

The links will take you to Things From Another World where you’ll save a big % on any order. If you need to get to your local comic book store now just follow the link and you’ll get there.

New All Age Comic Books for Wednesday, May 13, 2015

There is a really great variety of all age comic books new this week.  For the classic readers the new Uncle Scrooge #2 is out, Scooby-Doo Where Are You?,  as are three different Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle books for young readers to shell up on.

Action readers will wan to get the final issue of Marvel Universe Guardians of the Galaxy. This is the fourth issue of the all ages version of Guardians of the Galaxy based on the Disney XD show.

We’re pumped about Mouse Guard Legends of the Guard Volume 3, #3. The art in this series is fabulous for all ages, it’s realistic, scale sized action with great stories about mice doing extraordinary things.  Our oldest is most excited about SpongeBob #44. If you’ve only seen the cartoon then you owe it to yourself to check out the comic.  It’s funny, great for anyone and priced at only $2.99.

We’ve played with the layout this week.  It’s friendlier to people that actually want to get a peek at the artwork going on in these all age comics.  They also give you a little more verbiage as to what your young reader can expect if they read it. The links will take you to Things From Another World and will save you 10% or more on comics.  If you want to head out to your local comic book store and pick these up today then dig the link, find out where yours is located and get your kids reading some all age comic books.

New All Age Comics for Wednesday, May 6, 2015

It’s new all age comics day again and it looks like folks are still reeling from Free Comic Book Day. Things are a little skinny, but there are still some great all age comics, that are brand new-in store this week.  Of note this week to us is Regular Show #23.  This comic is so bizarre at first, but then really funny.  That was our reaction to the television show too, now we get both of them and they’re fabulous.

It’s also a great week for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles who have three new releases and the new, revamped Walt Disney Comics on IDW.  This week Donald Duck returns with all new adventures and Uncle Srooge #2 hits shelves also.  These comics are thick, feature all new stories and have classic artwork.

The links will take you to Things From Another World and will save you 10% or more on comics.  If you want to head out to your local comic book store and pick these up today then dig the link, find out where yours is located and get your kids reading some all age comic books.

New All Age Comic Books for Wednesday, April 15, 2015

There is something in the water this week because it is packed with new all age comic books.  This is not the week for any parent to say “I don’t let my child read comics because there is nothing that interests them”.  From the sublimely silly, classic old school, new school, video games and more this is your week to introduce the kids to comic books.

File under silly: Archie Vs. Predator.  We still have Archie Vs. The Punisher and have high hopes for Archie Vs. Predator which would be OK for ages 9 and up. Capture Creatures is great for the creative kids who like monsters that are lovable. Hero Cats has come a long way from its first issue; worth checking out if you like action…..with cats and some people. Regular Show, Simpsons Comics and Peanuts also come out this week, those three are dependable every single issue. Also My Little Pony: Fiendship is Magic is great, it takes a look at the villains in Equestria.  Does your child like more ‘comic’ oriented story?  Don’t miss Sleepless Knight Picture Book, it’s in the same vein as classic Peanuts and Calvin & Hobbes in that it’s a book, but has the panel look of daily strips.

The links will take you to Things From Another World and will save you 10% or more on comics.  If you want to head out to your local comic book store then just follow the link and drive safely.
