From the first: 90 of Hot Air, the 12th release from Recess Monkey you will be hooked. New All Age Comic Books for Wednesday August 5, 2015

Listen closely and you’ll hear the happy cries of kids going back to school and the parents who are taking them there. It’s win/win. You should also listen for fans of Regular Show because they’ve got issue #26 and a original graphic novel from them called Regular Show Noir Means Noir Buddy. The cover for that book alone brings a big smile to our face.

Peanuts is ramping up for the film by re-issuing the ultra early comic strips in book from again. These are some of the strips from the early to mid 50’s and have aged quite well.  The Mighty Skullboy Loony, Tunes, Bat-Mite and Bob’s Burgers are some of the new all age comics that hit this week.

Fraggle Rock Journey to the Everspring comes out on hardcover this week and is a fabulous series. The art and colors in this book remind you of what you loved about Fraggles or will introduce you to a whole new world.

The Magic School Bus Season Three: education via the looking glass

The Magic School Bus is a show that flew under our radar when it first came out in 1994. The third season of the show is out on DVD and it’s one that our children watch consistently. Not only that, we’ve started watching with them and thoroughly enjoy it. Imagine childhood questions being answered by Lilly Tomlin, asking if you want the blue or red pill before you go on your Matrix-esque, kid friendly 26 minute journey and you have an idea about this series.

I Am Big Bird is a “must see” film on every level

Documentaries are something that I’m not usually a big fan of. Best case they’re engaging, worst case they’re pompous, too artsy and boring. However, I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story, while it is a documentary film, is so much more than what the genre implies. Take away the allure of Sesame Street, the puppet fascination behind Oscar the Grouch and the feel goods that you receive from Big Bird. Even if you know nothing about Sesame Street or for some reason, have ill feelings towards them this documentary will melt your heart.

New all age comic books for Wednesday, July 29, 2015

Hello Dog Days of Summer! Don’t get freaked out if you look at the list alphabetically and presume that nothing new for the all age comic books and their people new this week. There are new books, it’s just that most of them are after the letter “P” and even then you may have to go to a book store to get them. We’ll explain in a moment, but suffice it to say, get out, support comics that any age can read and it’ll help them, your child will dig them and it’s a great trip out of the house.

Punky Brewster gets a brand new trade paperback as does Sonic Saga, Volume 8, Hedgehog Havoc. Don’t judge Sonic poorly because it’s a video game, this comic is great for any age, has lots of action and features lots of critters for kids to love.

Super League Gaming brings in-theater group Minecraft to Atlanta

This is a sponsored post. All thoughts are our own and this really sound like a block building, tree chopping good time. As a dad and casual gamer there is a lot to love about that headline. I know that when our kids are older they’ll be into video games and most likely Minecraft. Super League Gaming has partnered with the nation’s three largest movie theater chains, Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Theaters and Cinemark Theaters to a screen that’s much bigger than your computer-or even your television! In this case they’re playing Minecraft in the movie theater and the tour is coming to Atlanta July 20-22 at five different locations.
