Denny’s brings the fluff with their new pancakes #DennysDiner

Hey, we’re an Ambassador for Denny’s and were compensated for this post. All thoughts, even the fluffy ones, are our own.  My wife sometimes makes pancakes on the weekends and the boys love them. And they are good-but it turns out that many visitors to Denny’s had the same thoughts. 44% of folks who visited Denny’s liked their pancakes, but thought that the best pancakes were the ones that they made at home. With the gauntlet thrown, the chefs at Denny’s went back to the kitchen and came out with a pancake that is 50% fluffier.

The new recipe has fresh buttermilk, flour, vanilla and eggs. Sure that’s close the same as the recipe you’re using at home, but (no offense to my wife) these are much fluffier. Does a fluffy pancake equal a tasty pancake? The taste aspect you’ll just have to trust me on, however, the size aspect we have proof.

Win a family 4-pack of tickets to #TORUK-The First Flight at Infinite Energy Center

Cirque is an amazing thing. Cirque of itself is short for Cirque du Soleil. However, if you simply say Cirque, people know what you’re talking about and what to expect. Within the world of Cirque du Soleil there are traveling shows-all of which have different dynamic personalities. Cirque is an amazing thing. To that, TORUK-The First Flight is coming to Infinite Energy Center from June 15 through Sunday June 19 and here’s your chance to win 4 passes to opening night.

Toruk, cirque, toruk the first flight, avatar, james Cameron, Pandora, cirque de soleil

TORUK-The First Flight is the latest Cirque de Soleil show and dives, or rather flies deep into the mythos of the world created by James Cameron’s AVATAR.  Puppets, aerobatics, physical dynamics and a world class soundtrack, all set to the world of Pandora.

In TORUK-The First Flight the audience gets a front row seat to the Na’vi’s existence on Pandora. It’s all narrated by a “Na’vi” storyteller” and supported by the same stunning costumes and amazing athletics one expects from a Cirque de Soleil show. However, this is thousands of years before humans have set foot on Pandora and a natural catastrophe is threatening the sacred Tree of Souls. Enter the flying mountains set as the backdrop to the artisans of Cirque de Soleil and you’re in for an event that the entire family can get behind.

This is for a family 4-pack of tickets to opening night, June 15 at Infinite Energy Center to see TORUK-The First Flight. The winner’s name will be left at will call the night of the show.

Photos from MomoCon – Anime, Manga, all age Con in Atlanta

Our second year in attending MomoCon was even better than the first. Part of that was due to our kids now being 4 and 6, but part of that was due to us knowing what to expect. MomoCon is a fan convention that bring together anime, manga, games, animation and comics-and it is all age friendly. We’re 100% down with cons that up the ante and make it more for the adults, but a good all age Con is that ensures a future fan base and lets the parents have fun is welcome.

5 Simple Ideas to Kick Start Your Spring Play

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Let’s Play, but all opinions are my own.

Excitement in the air as Daddy Mojo is a Let’s Play Ambassador for Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s Let’s Play initiative. With two kids who need to get out and  play, a very good understanding of where our local parks are and a curiosity to discover new places to play, we’re all pumped. Let’s Play is an initiative by Dr Pepper Snapple Group that provides kids and families with the tools, places and inspiration to make active play a daily priority. Through Let’s Play, Dr Pepper Snapple Group partners with two non-profit organizations – KaBOOM! to build and improve playgrounds and Good Sports to provide grants for sports equipment – to help make active play possible.

Playing is a very important tool in how kids learn. It helps build teamwork and assists in those lessons that books just can’t teach. Plus, it helps young students get the exercise that they need, considering that only a third of kids take gym daily.

May! Let’s face it, May is everybody’s favorite month of the year. It’s not that the other months are bad; it’s just that May is perfect, and it’s a great month to get active. The kids can play longer due to more daylight, and are frustrated when they have to go to bed before the sun sets. All of this means that the kids can enjoy new things in the spring and summer. Think about it, the last time it was this warm in some of their young lives they couldn’t do some of the things that they wanted to do.

Spring Break in Atlanta: The World of Coca-Cola ticket giveaway

One thing I’ve learned since being a parent is knowing what’s in your own backyard. People come to town and want to know what there is to do. One of our go-to attractions in Atlanta* is World of Coca-Cola. It’s a beautiful facility that can keep the family entertained for about three hours. The kids and I go t here about four times a year and they have a kick every time they go.

Is Batman V Superman OK for children? #FandangoFamily

This is a spoiler free review. Children love Batman and Superman, the titular characters in one of this year’s most anticipated films. Our 6 year old gave me the sad puppy dog eyes when I said that I was going to see it. Batman V Superman is rated PG-13, some films with that rating are OK for younger kids, while some aren’t. Is Batman V Superman ok for children? No, it’s not, but it’s not good for children for a number of reasons, most which I didn’t expect.

Kurios by Cirque de Soleil make the common fascinating

People can be divided into two groups, those who have seen a Cirque de Soleil show and those who haven’t. For those who haven’t it; a show from Cirque de Soleil is an entertaining, fabulous ensemble of acrobatics, stunts and precision that will make active, in shape people seem like wooden planks of bacon grease. Kurios is the latest traveling show from Cirque and it’s in Atlanta through Sunday, May 8.

Cirque, cirque de soleil, kurios, Atlanta, acrobatic, circus, entertaining.

For the other group, those that have seen a Cirque show you roughly know the drill. Kurios is the 35th production from Cirque de Soleil, features 46 performing artists from 15 different countries and manages to shake up the formula. Sure, they’ve ‘shaken up’, the Cirque formula before and the results, while fresh and original, have also felt familiar. There was the show that only had female performers and the equestrian shows; both of which were entertaining, but does not measure on the same shake up scale as Kurios.
