Six Flags Over Georgia Hiring Hundreds of undead entertainers

Who says the undead aren’t any fun? Well, it wasn’t us because A. We like our souls. B. Have plenty of axes nearby at any time and C. Have a healthy distrust of anyone pale who wears black all of the time. However, I did work at a theme park for several years doing a variety of jobs as an entertainer and can vouch for how transformative of a job this can be. This casting call is out to prove that there is #NothingScarier than Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Super League Gaming brings in-theater group Minecraft to Atlanta

This is a sponsored post. All thoughts are our own and this really sound like a block building, tree chopping good time. As a dad and casual gamer there is a lot to love about that headline. I know that when our kids are older they’ll be into video games and most likely Minecraft. Super League Gaming has partnered with the nation’s three largest movie theater chains, Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Theaters and Cinemark Theaters to a screen that’s much bigger than your computer-or even your television! In this case they’re playing Minecraft in the movie theater and the tour is coming to Atlanta July 20-22 at five different locations.

Minions get their own movie and kids will love it #FandangoFamily

What do you get when one of the best parts of a movie gets their own film? The quick answer is Minions, those cute yellow eraser shaped things from Despicable Me.  They were cute, strange and provided a nice ally to Gru’s good-bad guy.  In Minions we get 90 minutes of all Minions, all the time and children will enjoy at least 70 minutes of it.

Click, Clack Moo: Cows That Type, hits the puppet stage show

Click, Clack Moo: Cows That Type is a classic children’s book about cows that learn to type and start communicating with Farmer Brown. It was originally released in 2001, earned the Caldecott Honor Book award that same year and hasn’t aged at all since then. Click, Clack Moo: Cows That Type also translates very well onto the stage, specifically the puppet stage at Center for Puppetry Arts where it’s playing through July 26, 2015.

Summer fun with the kids, exercise KIND snacks and #KINDMilesMatter #ad

I partnered with Life of Dad and KIND for this promotion. All thoughts are my own. Summertime and the exercise is easy, I might write a song that starts out something like that. Seriously though, summer is a fun time to get outside and exercise with the kids. The only difference with the children is that you don’t call it exercise, per se, it’s just called seeing a new town, going to the nature center or learning to ride a bike/swim.  It’s all about #KINDMilesMatter, jamming as much healthy fun as you can into the summer vacation. Here’s a sampling of what we did to burn some calories and how you can dig some KIND Snacks for something so tasty you won’t want to share it with the kids, but you should.

A boy’s Fantastic time 4 eating out at Denny’s with dad #ad

We were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own and rest assured, we really, really like to eat. “I liked the castle Denny’s daddy”, our oldest said as we drove away. Well, to be fair, it was constructed with lots of big logs, rocks and we drove over a lake (which he could’ve thought was a mote), so in the eyes of a five year old it could look like a castle. Castle setting aside there was no sense of Doom, we were there to eat, learn about the new Fantastic 4 menu items and tell you about how you and a buddy can win a trip to the world premiere of the film.

Butterfly Encounter at Chattahoochee Nature Center is through July 31

Kids and nature go together like hand and glove. Our kids love going there for no reason at all. They’ve got a lake where dozens of turtles lounge on the fallen trees on a summer’s day and dozens of other critters in natural settings that the kids love learning about. Normally it’s status quo and a good place to pass time.  However, now Chattahoochee Nature Center has an exhibit, Butterfly Encounter that will absolutely leave you breathless.

Win a $100 gift card from Fandango #FandangoFamily

While the heat certainly makes summer challenging, there is so much to enjoy about this time of year. There is the pool, the beach and the movies. Have you seen Fury Road? That is the best action film that we’ve seen since The Raid. It is amazing. Inside Out is the (family) film that you have been waiting all year for. Minions, Jurassic, Max (not Mad, this is dog movie whose trailer made me cry and think of those quality coming-of-age films) , Rogue Nation and more.

It doesn’t have to be a family film with $100 from Fandango. You can take the family to a film, go see one that you’ve been itching to see, do a date night or take a group out for fun. The world is your oyster and this $100 gift card from Fandango will entertain you while you’re out enjoying it.
