All age comic books for October 16

Tis two weeks before Halloween and all through the comic book shop lay those all age comic books good for ages 5 and up. Well, some of them anyway-and for that really young crowd check out Star Wars A Merry Sithmas Pop-Up book. It’s from Disney and a chance to make your own pop-up book. The 3D elements won’t be board book quality, so while the presentation is great for those young ones, just keep their hands a safe distance away. For those readers who are slightly older Star Wars Adventures: Vader’s Castle or Marvel Action Black Panther, both of these comic books are highly entertaining and great for ages 7 and up.

In the podcast we’ll chat about Charlie Brown, Scooby Doo, a great What Is The Story book about Doctor Who and a Superman book that middle schoolers might be down with.

All Age Comic Books for October 9

October is a great time for all age comic books. It’s jammed with some books that you’d expect, a couple new comics that will bring age appropriate scares and the Halloween Mini-Comics. We’ve given out the Halloween Mini-Comics to our child’s classes for years and this year has books from Blastosaurus, DC Superhero Girls, The Loud House and many more. A pack of these only costs $4.99, but get them quickly as some titles will certainly sell out on New Comic Book Day.

In the podcast this week we’re talking about Cartoon Network Gift Set, Wings of Fire The Graphic Novel-The Hidden Kingdom, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Batman, The Unicorn Whisperer and a couple others. For now, here are all of this week’s new all age comic books, some that will be OK for readers in mid-elementary school and a couple left of center titles that will be great for middle school.

Halloween mini-comics are nigh! Squirrel Girl, Phoebe, Plants, zombies and more

All Age Comic Books for September 25

This is a great week for all age comic books if you’ve ever thought that there’s not enough variety. If you’re looking for an elementary school staple they have some element of them included in this week’s release. In the podcast we’ll chat about Blastosaurus, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Scooby-Doo, Care Bears and much more. For now though, here are all of the comic books or graphic novels that will appeal to those in elementary school and up.

What are the all age comic books that you want to read this week?

This week in all age comic books has lots for ages 7 and up, Scooby, Looney Tunes, Moon Girl, Blasosaurus and much more.
Moon Girl, Scooby Doo, Snug Harbor, Blastosaurs and more are some of the cool all age comic books

All age comic books for September 18

All age comic books and all age graphic novels. The former are just individual comic books that come out in a monthly or as a mini-series. The later are either an original story that’s out for the first time or a collected series of comic books that encapsulate a story arc from comic books.

This week has some amazing examples of all of them. One of our favorite original graphic novels has a new entry this week. Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy is so much fun for elementary aged reader and (way…) up. Time Trout is their latest adventure and is so fun to read. This is the manic sort of story that will hook in anyone who picks up the book. It’ll make reluctant readers want to read and give those kids who already love reading an excuse to re-read it dozens of times. Elementary school readers will also dig Teen Titans Go!, Catwad-It’s Me, Two and many others.

Middle school readers already have Guts on their radar. The content might be too much for elementary ages, but some in upper elementary will be OK with it. The Red Zone is a great example of a graphic novel as a means of education and entertainment. Granted, the true story of an earthquake isn’t entertaining, but kids might have difficulty processing massive scale disasters. This graphic novel opens a window to that experience.

In the podcast we’ll chat about those things plus Magnificent Ms. Marvel, Archie vs. Predator 2 and more.

This week in all age comic books has Laser Moose Catwad, Guts, The Red Zone, Teen Titans Go! and two series for emerging readers.

All age comic books for September 11

This week in all age comic books you’ll notice that the demographic is noticeably younger.  Some weeks it just happens that way for elementary school readers and this week has a number of things for those ages including Mr. Wolf’s Class: Lucky Stars, Hilda and the Mountain King, Pokemon: Sun & Moon and The Baby-Sitters Club with Boy-Crazy Stacy. For those upper elementary kids and older check out Star Wars Jedi Academy Volume #8, Amazing Spider-Man #29, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #48 and more. For a complete list of this week’s all age comic books just scroll down. The rating system is quite easy to follow and the books will be appropriate for those ages. Whether or not they will like the individual reader will like it is up them, but it’s something that’s age appropriate.

All age comic books for August 28

What’s new in all age comic books this week? In the podcast we’ll chat about Marvel Team Up, Tangled and a couple other comic books that tie-in to some announcements made at D23 recently.

This week in all age comic books has Lumberjanes, Moon Girl, Tangled and a Tyna of The Lake a fabulous fable oriented original graphic novel.

If you’re looking for a comic book that’s great for ages 8 and up this week check out Lumberjanes or Invader Zim. If it’s something a little younger you’re looking for dig into Tangled: Hair It Is, My Little Pony or Casper’s Capers. Our favorite all age comic book (or in this case, graphic novel) is Tyna of the Lake. This is volume 3 in the ongoing Gamayun Tales series by Nobrow Press. This graphic novel is beautifully illustrated and full of the sorts of imagery and monsters that live in fables that ages seven and up will love. This a great example of an all age graphic novel that appeals to those in elementary school and up-without watering down the action or adventure older readers yearn for.
