Win a 6 month subscription to Netflix #StreamTeam, #BeatBugs

We’re on the Stream Team with Netflix and this giveaway was provided by them. Update: our kids are still digging Beat Bugs on Netflix. It’s been a couple weeks into their fascination with the show and the music is still being enjoyed. Have you or your kids seen Beat Bugs on Netflix?

Netflix, win, stream team, beat bugs, kids

It’s a Netflix original that is geared to kids 2-7 and features top notch Beatles cover songs done by some of today’s best artists. Sure the kids don’t know that its source material will be influencing their children’s music-and that is OK with them. They like it now and that’s a great place to start.

This giveaway is for a 6 month subscription to Netflix.

Bedtime For Batman, a super good night book for 7 and under

Our criteria for a great good night book is that it has big pictures, is short enough to re-read if you need to and is interesting enough for young kids. Using our qualifiers there has not been a good night superhero book for the younger ages until now. Bedtime For Batman has bright, big art featuring the caped crusader and his parallel tract with a 4 year old boy who is preparing for bed.

Play Well LEGO Camp, fun for brick builders in summer and beyond

We were provided with classes for review. All thought are our own. When is summer camp not a summer camp?  When it happens year round is the obvious answer. That’s the case with Play Well. During the summer Play Well has dozens upon dozens of LEGO camps for kids 5-14. Our oldest son attended a Play Well LEGO Camp the other week and absolutely loved it. We liked it too, for many reasons. However, going back to our original ‘boy-turns-into-a-store’ metaphor, Play Well has LEGO classes year round to engage your budding brick builder.

Amazing Water, fun, palatable intro to classical music for all ages

Classical music makes you smart. I don’t know if that’s true, but that’s the go-to programming for people once they find out that they’re going to be parents. We got one of those classical music or baby CD’s when our first was born, as you probably did too-or gave one as a baby shower gift. Amazing Water serves that purpose and then some for older kids who genuinely want to learn about classical music, its history and the people who make it.

Hey there, we’re a Denny’s Ambassador and were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own. Summer! Summer is when a kid can be a kid. It means playing in the pool for hours, making up games in the backyard and exercising until you’re called to come inside and eat. For us on Tuesdays it means eating at Denny’s because from 4-10 kids eat for free.

Explore and play: vacationing with wiggle room

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Let’s Play, but all opinions are my own.

As a Let’s Play Ambassador I like to play. Having said that, I’ve always liked to play and have a very curious spirit. When I was single and travelling I enjoyed getting lost and have always liked being out of my element. Our family travel or vacations do not have the same vibe, but I still manage to discover side trips or activities that are not the main reason for why we’re going there.

Spidey #6 is all age comic book web slinging magic

There was a three year period when I was a kid where I read every issue of Spidey comics. I look back at those old comics now and still recall re-reading them, looking at the art, the dog eared pages and more. An updated version of that classic Spidey comic book is out and it’s bound to create the same long lasting memories for today’s kids.

Spidey is not the same as the Marvel Universe Ultimate Spider-Man. The later is based on the Disney XD television series and has an All Ages rating from Marvel Comics. The former is also from Marvel, but for some reason is rated teen. Parents don’t be put off by that teen rating on Spidey. This is a comic book that ages 7 and up will absolutely love, packed with action, villains and the issues that face an upper-middle school aged student.

5 Simple Ideas to Kick Start Your Spring Play

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Let’s Play, but all opinions are my own.

Excitement in the air as Daddy Mojo is a Let’s Play Ambassador for Dr Pepper Snapple Group’s Let’s Play initiative. With two kids who need to get out and  play, a very good understanding of where our local parks are and a curiosity to discover new places to play, we’re all pumped. Let’s Play is an initiative by Dr Pepper Snapple Group that provides kids and families with the tools, places and inspiration to make active play a daily priority. Through Let’s Play, Dr Pepper Snapple Group partners with two non-profit organizations – KaBOOM! to build and improve playgrounds and Good Sports to provide grants for sports equipment – to help make active play possible.

Playing is a very important tool in how kids learn. It helps build teamwork and assists in those lessons that books just can’t teach. Plus, it helps young students get the exercise that they need, considering that only a third of kids take gym daily.

May! Let’s face it, May is everybody’s favorite month of the year. It’s not that the other months are bad; it’s just that May is perfect, and it’s a great month to get active. The kids can play longer due to more daylight, and are frustrated when they have to go to bed before the sun sets. All of this means that the kids can enjoy new things in the spring and summer. Think about it, the last time it was this warm in some of their young lives they couldn’t do some of the things that they wanted to do.

Play, park, activity, basketball, May, garden, ride a bike, spring
