We do love going to the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Having such a large and well planned out museum of natural history is a benefit to living in a big city. However, truth be told, we don’t get there more than a couple of times a year. Extreme Mammals just opened at Fernbank and is a great reason to discover-or be reminded of what a great museum it is. Continue reading Extreme Mammals is a great addition to Fernbank for children

All Through My Town is the go-to children’s book in the house now
I love to read. 3YO Mojo likes to read too. In a perfect world I’d have enough time to have a site devoted exclusively to comic and children’s books. I state that to preface the fact that our son likes books but is picky and certainly has his favorite books. Having said that; All Through My Town by Jean Reidy has been his go-to book ever since he picked it up. Continue reading All Through My Town is the go-to children’s book in the house now
The Sears ‘All things Baby’ sale is a great primer for parents to be
When I have a spare moment (rarely) I think back to when I had free time (before children). The needless books we purchased provided us with thousands of tips we’ve since forgotten, paranoid thoughts we didn’t listen to (thankfully) and a litany of things we’d need for the baby. Currently Sears is having the ‘All Things Baby’ sale. It’s a simple title with samples of everything you’ll need at some point during your time as a parent to small people. Continue reading The Sears ‘All things Baby’ sale is a great primer for parents to be
How my wife and I discovered our 3YO son gaming the system
As a child I remember gaming the system. The system varied from sneaking into a swimming pool to getting out of chores, but I was a sneaky young man. 3YO Mojo gamed our system for a couple of days, until we got wise to it. Continue reading How my wife and I discovered our 3YO son gaming the system
Athlete vs. Mathlete by W.C. Mack is great reading for ages 7 and up
My wife normally reads the young adult books. She was busy with another book so I jumped into Athlete vs. Mathlete. As the book is aimed at young adults I enlisted an actual young reader to read the book as well. Continue reading Athlete vs. Mathlete by W.C. Mack is great reading for ages 7 and up
How to remove crayons from wooden surfaces
The other day More Mojo was crawling his 16 month old self up the stairs. I was dutifully behind him making sure that he didn’t reverse course. When we got to the top I grabbed him and headed down when I saw 3 YO Mojo had taken out his crayons and was coloring the hardwood floors. Nooooo, I yelled in my best slow motion voice, while running down the stairs carrying a crawler. Continue reading How to remove crayons from wooden surfaces
6 tips on taking small children to a movie theater
We saw Skyfall when it was it theaters, great movie if you haven’t seen it. The theater was packed and seating was limited. In front of our seats was a young couple with a 3 month old in their baby carrier. The specter of a crying newborn was almost as scary as Javier Bardem’s performance was creepy. Continue reading 6 tips on taking small children to a movie theater
Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus-Dragons in Atlanta and Duluth Feb 13-Mar 3
3 YO Mojo is giddy. For the past two years we’ve been to the welcoming ceremony for the circus. That’s the elephant parade for lack of a better term when some elephants and clowns come outside the arena the morning before the first show. Those times he was too young to enjoy it, but now that he knows (and loves) all of his animals, he is primed to go this year. Continue reading Ringling Bros.
