Few television shows have resonated with the kids and I as much as We Bare Bears have. It’s one of those quirky shows that we stumbled on to while digging through Netflix. I knew that it was from Cartoon Network and their shows immediately have an inherent trust in their writing, wit and quality. Four short seasons later it’s one of the few shows that will stop us in our tracks and turn on the couch magnet so that we can’t escape. We Bare Bears: The Movie is an original film from Cartoon Network that serves and a series finale as great at Breaking Bad.

Infinity Train Book 1, available on DVD and streaming now
From the first moment I saw the trailer and heard the synopsis for Infinity Train I knew it would be one that we’d thoroughly enjoy. A young girl stumbles onto a train where everything defies reality and she’s unable to get back home. Created by Owen Dennis a writer and storyboard artist on Adventure Time, Infinity Train reminded us of what The Wizard of Oz, mixed with Snowpiercer and aspects of The Matrix. Oh –and the look is reminiscent of a Cartoon Network show with more anime-esque elements than you’d expect. Infinity Train, Book 1 didn’t disappoint and is now available on DVD and streaming.

October is a great time for all age comic books. It’s jammed with some books that you’d expect, a couple new comics that will bring age appropriate scares and the Halloween Mini-Comics. We’ve given out the Halloween Mini-Comics to our child’s classes for years and this year has books from Blastosaurus, DC Superhero Girls, The Loud House and many more. A pack of these only costs $4.99, but get them quickly as some titles will certainly sell out on New Comic Book Day.
In the podcast this week we’re talking about Cartoon Network Gift Set, Wings of Fire The Graphic Novel-The Hidden Kingdom, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Batman, The Unicorn Whisperer and a couple others. For now, here are all of this week’s new all age comic books, some that will be OK for readers in mid-elementary school and a couple left of center titles that will be great for middle school.
