The Chicken Thief is a children’s book, but we love it

We were in the library the other day when I stumbled across The Chicken Thief by Beatrice Rodriguez.   It’s a funny shaped book that’s more rectangular than most, has a cute bunny on the back cover  and Toddler Mojo was ready to go.  As a toddler tantrum was about to happen I checked out and didn’t pay the book any attention until I got home. Is No Ordinary Family the best show on television?

Stay at home parents cherish time away from their child. We love them dearly, but those moments when we relax and have some adult time, watch television or read a book is a hot commodity. For those stay at home parents who have a part time job or home based business your time during the week is even more valuable.

I don’t, I can’t watch television during the week. I’d love to watch something every night of the week, but then my clients wouldn’t get their work done, my wife wouldn’t receive any conversation and Daddy Mojo wouldn’t get any reviews, commentary (or fart jokes) written. Having said that, I stop what I’m doing on Tuesday nights so I can watch No Ordinary Family on ABC. Continue reading Is No Ordinary Family the best show on television?

A dad and the communication stages of the Toddler

The 17 month old toddler is a magical, highly excitable creature that still has trouble communicating to mom and dad.  While the toddler’s point gets made, it lacks a certain finesse.  In observing our toddler we’ve determined that a 17 month old has three forms of verbal communication: Chinese Baby, Bobcat Goldwaite and The Singing Frog, Continue reading A dad and the communication stages of the Toddler

Dad spends a night in the Man Cave

I love my wife but sometimes a guy needs to be a guy, hole up in his man cave and just watch some television.  In my case my man cave is the living room, which can still have aspects of estrogen, especially around the holidays.  I’m thankful now that we’re verging on St. Patrick’s Day and the quite feminine Easter decorations haven’t come out yet, this way I can pretend it’s a man cave. Massive children’s consignment sale in Roswell this weekend

We are big fans of buying used.  It’s good for the environment and helps us remain frugal with our limited supply of cash.

We’re also pumped about our favorite consignment sale of the year happening this weekend.  It’s the bi-annual Second Childhood Consignment at 1425 Market Boulevard, Roswell, GA, 30076 in the old Comp USA location.  The sale is March 4, 10-6PM, March 5, 9-3 and March 6, Continue reading Massive children’s consignment sale in Roswell this weekend

Big Book Bargains in the Atlanta Burbs

I love books.  Because of that it’s not too surprising that Baby Mojo loves books.  At bedtime either mom or I will read a book to him, then leave his bed light on while he sits in his crib and reads himself to sleep.  When we go into to change his diaper later in the night it looks like the Book Town mafia shot down our son with an outline of cardboard children’s books. As a parent, should you advise other parents?

Nobody likes people who butt into their business.  They offer suggestions and voice their opinions when we may not want or need them.   This can be especially true when it comes to parents and the style or manner in which they raise their children.

We encountered two situations recently where we didn’t say anything, but left possibly wishing that we should have.

Daddy Mojo reviews: the Schwinn AirDriver 1100 floor pump

I came downstairs this morning and my wife asked me how to use the bike pump.  I started laughing and then told her that this bike pump was sent from a dank, isolated place to torture us all. Continue reading Daddy Mojo reviews: the Schwinn AirDriver 1100 floor pump
