Back in the day I used to read Danger Girl, when it came out. It was one of those comics that issued an issue every month or so, semi interesting bad guys and half naked women on every page. Don’t get me wrong, I do love beautiful women, but there is just something about Danger Girl that reminds me of those lyrics from Barenaked Ladies. Continue reading The Danger Girl/G.I. Joe crossover is simple, OK comic middle ground
The groundhog was wrong, Sears and #GrillingIsHappiness is now
The calendar says February, but in my dinner mind’s eye it’s April and I’m grilling out 2 or 3 nights a week. If I were a true grill man then I would do it every month of the year, I realize that. Grill 12 months a year or the fair weather grill man like me, Sears has you covered with #GrillingIsHappiness sale. Continue reading The groundhog was wrong, Sears and #GrillingIsHappiness is now
The Sears ‘All things Baby’ sale is a great primer for parents to be
When I have a spare moment (rarely) I think back to when I had free time (before children). The needless books we purchased provided us with thousands of tips we’ve since forgotten, paranoid thoughts we didn’t listen to (thankfully) and a litany of things we’d need for the baby. Currently Sears is having the ‘All Things Baby’ sale. It’s a simple title with samples of everything you’ll need at some point during your time as a parent to small people. Perhaps when it rains outside, but grilling would still be happiness, just a bit wet. Celebrate the coming spring and grilling season with @Sears at the #GrillingIsHappiness twitter party on Tuesday, February 19 at 1:00 ET. Any day is a good day to watch A Good Day to Die Hard
The early reviews weren’t too kind about the new Die Hard movie. My twitter feed was abuzz with sayings like ‘this Die Hard dies dead and should labeled DNR’. It scored 1 tomato on Rotten Tomatoes. After watching the movie a good retort is that any day is a good day to watch A Good Day to Die Hard.
To be clear, this is not a great movie. It’s not Lincoln, Argo, Life of Pi or even Battleship. It’s not as awful as the really (good) bad reviews are and it’s not as great as…well nobody is saying that it’s great, but it is good and entertaining if you have the right attitude. How my wife and I discovered our 3YO son gaming the system
As a child I remember gaming the system. The system varied from sneaking into a swimming pool to getting out of chores, but I was a sneaky young man. 3YO Mojo gamed our system for a couple of days, until we got wise to it. Continue reading How my wife and I discovered our 3YO son gaming the system
Athlete vs. Mathlete by W.C. Mack is great reading for ages 7 and up
My wife normally reads the young adult books. She was busy with another book so I jumped into Athlete vs. Mathlete. As the book is aimed at young adults I enlisted an actual young reader to read the book as well. Continue reading Athlete vs. Mathlete by W.C. Mack is great reading for ages 7 and up
Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Rush-not just for kids
I’m a big Rush fan. They were long overdue to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Justice served, they’re in and have just been given the lullaby treatment from Rockabye Baby! Continue reading Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Rush-not just for kids
