Being a stay-at-home dad, Daddy Mojo does all of the shopping for the family. Occasionally when he sees an amazing deal he’ll post it here.
DIY a SAHD can do-refinish a tub, tile or sink
A bathtub that is chipping paint is not a good thing. Structurally the tub is sound, but its outward appearance is screaming for a makeover. If only chipped paint tasted like popcorn and weren’t somewhat of a hazard then there would be no problem. However, in reality, chipped paint exposes the surface which can then honestly degrade the quality of the tub. Continue reading DIY a SAHD can do-refinish a tub, tile or sink
Daddy Mojo shops: Select Hot Wheels on sale at Target
In a couple square feet of Mommy Mojo’s closet we have something I call the prize closet. When I worked in radio every station had a prize closet, it was where the CDs, shirts and other goodies were kept. Now that I’m a dad my prize closet has taken on a slightly different meaning. DIY a Stay at Home Dad can do-Replace a bathroom faucet
In our bathroom we have his and her sinks. Each sink has its own accoutrements, soap stains and levels of dirt that happen naturally. While I clean the sink area once I week, I’ll fess up that my side usually has a tooth paste glob on it, in addition to shave droppings. That mess pales in comparison to the slippery funk that was in the drain area of my wife’s sink though. Continue reading DIY a Stay at Home Dad can do-Replace a bathroom faucet
DIY a Stay at home Dad can do: Wall paper removal
My wife and I love our house, for us it is perfect. When we have to move it’ll be because we’re old, gray and can’t make it up the stairs anymore. If we have to move before then and don’t like the people who’ll be purchasing the house, then this dad will spend hours putting up wall paper. Ugly, thick wall paper that will be immediately dated to an era when boy bands ruled and Good Vibrations wasn’t considered a cheesy song. DIY a Stay at Home Dad can do-wax toilet seal
Our bathroom smelled funny. Actually, it didn’t smell funny, it smelled of urine and we clean the bathroom regularly. Have you seen the Friends episode where they’re trapped in the bathroom and Mathew Perry says to Courtney Cox, “Are you cleaning?” That is my wife and a constant bad smell that can’t be eradicated means that Daddy Mojo better find the odor.
I’ve experienced this before and knew that the wax toilet ring was corrupted. Unfortunately, as I knew what the problem was, I waited to fix it because I knew how to do it. It’s my own personal ouroboros. As we had young children coming to the house this weekend my wife started looking up wax seal replacement on the net.
