You’d be crazy not to like OH, NUTS! by Tammi Sauer
As a dad, some of the best books that I can read to my children are those that I can enjoy too. I also don’t want there to be too many words and if I can read it without putting my glasses on that’s a plus. With those classifiers in mind, OH, NUTS! is a fabulous book. It’s clever enough to keep adults entertained; the children will love the illustrations and learn a life lesson about being happy. Continue reading You’d be crazy not to like OH, NUTS! by Tammi Sauer
Lincoln is great, Daniel Day Lewis is mesmerizing
The trailers that first came out for Lincoln didn’t exactly ‘wow’ me. Moreover, as a rule of thumb I’ve never been attracted to biographies because I know how the story ends. Timing is everything, with that said the release of Won’t Back Down couldn’t be better. The Chicago Teachers Union strike just ended and charter school amendments are on many local ballots this November. A movie hasn’t received this coincidentally beneficial timing since The China Syndrome in 1979. Continue reading Won’t Back Down is like the New Kids on the Block
A Father First by Dwayne Wade misses a layup
I’m a dad that is not a sports fan. I know the big names, but I don’t have any idea what position they play or how their last game was. Dwayne Wade is a superstar basketball player with the Miami Heat. If you’re like me you thought that he was a character from A Different World. “A Father First” is his life story that takes readers from his impoverished beginnings in Chicago to living the high life in Miami. Dad reads Star Wars-Crimson Empire III Empire Lost
Star Wars, Crimson Empire III: Empire Lost is the long awaited sequel to Crimson Empire II. Long awaited can be a mixed blessing. Is it long awaited because fans lost interest, it wasn’t good enough to merit a quick release or the company is pushing it? In the Star Wars universe some things take time and this delayed sequel is a result of story changes and schedules not due to demand.
