Naptime DIY: Return of the Stinkhorn Mushrooms

Last summer stinkhorn mushrooms invaded our garden.  Stinkhorn mushrooms are phallic shaped mushrooms that smell like rotting flesh.  We killed them once, they came back and then, mercifully, winter came and killed everything in the garden.  We saw traces of them a couple weeks ago and chose not to write about it.  However, something happened that was so stealthy and insidious that it merits another mention. Naptime DIY: What is that stain on my ceiling?

A stain on the ceiling means water leaked down or a soda bottle exploded up.  While neither one is pleasant, the water stain leaking down is much more problematic.  Sometimes though, all is not as it appears in home improvement.  Recently we had a water stain that would’ve taken 10 minutes to fix, had I listened to my inner voice or read this post. netTALK Duo WiFi review: it may save money…. when it works

As all families do, we want to save money.  The phone, internet and television, had all been on one provider.  However, we didn’t watch enough television to merit the full package nor use the landline enough for the cost. Continue reading netTALK Duo WiFi review: it may save money…. when it works

How to remove crayons from wooden surfaces

The other day More Mojo was crawling his 16 month old self up the stairs.  I was dutifully behind him making sure that he didn’t reverse course.  When we got to the top I grabbed him and headed down when I saw 3 YO Mojo had taken out his crayons and was coloring the hardwood floors.  Nooooo, I  yelled in my best slow motion voice, while running down the stairs carrying a crawler.  Continue reading How to remove crayons from wooden surfaces
