As a stay at home dad to two increasingly active boys I know the schedule. The exact times may vary, but they will always consist of: go somewhere, buy something, build something, knock something down, run and run some more until we go to sleep. If clothes make the man then this is one shirt that will complete the couple. We received copy of the book to review. All thoughts are our own and really, the creative team behind this is off the chain. The growth of young adult fiction was always missing a large market. While some of the YA books crossed into this category, there hasn’t, until now, been one that started in the category specifically aimed at this group. Stan Lee is legendary in the comic world as co-creator of Spider-Man and The Avengers among others; and has teamed up with two other stars in comics to create The Zodiac Legacy.

Having a five-year old means negotiations and conflict resolution with small people who don’t have that strong of a command on logic or empathy. Granted, in some business cases that’s exactly what you’re dealing with, albeit with a being who is adult sized and should have those qualities. It’s because I spend most of my time with children that I wanted to read Changing the Conversation. It is not a parenting book, per se, but when dealing with someone who is melting down you seek assistance from many different sources.

Has it really been 10 years of MythBusters? Since they’ve released their 10th Anniversary collection, I guess so. We watched a couple episodes from the collection and were pleasantly surprised at how well the series has aged.

Oh Chuggington, we’ve avoided you for so long. Really, we need another train show like we need small, pointy toys on the floor that the children don’t pick up. To my surprise, both children, the 5 and 3YO loved the DVD, Snow Rescue and the playset, Koko’s Icy Escapade.

7 years ago my wife and I spent a great New Year’s Eve night in watching movies. We were renovating a house and sat on the sofa with stuff piled up all around us, watched various Bruce Lee movies and stayed under the blankets. We’ve been a streaming only household for two years. It is awesome and we have never looked back. Not only have we saved money we have altered the way that we watch television. Instead of just sitting down and flipping the remote, we now search and turn the TV off if nothing interests us. Netflix has certainly been a part of that. We’ve discovered dozens of new shows and our children only know that as the way to get entertainment on television.
