National Streaming Day is May 20 and we’ve got a cool giveaway for a Roku Streaming Stick. Just like National Bacon Day or International Cat Video Day, we don’t celebrate them exclusively when the calendar planners deemed it so. We stream every day. For us it started with a piece of what is now history, the Roku 2 XS. It allowed us to cut the cable, watch better quality television-while at the same time spending less time in front of the TV and opened up worlds of children’s programming options.

Daddy’s Home Blu-ray Combo Pack giveaway #BlogPopEvents

Even if the Daddy’s Home, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg slipped through your movie radar you heard about this scene. It’s the scene where Will Ferrel’s character, Brad Whitaker is attempting to be the cool step-dad at a basketball game. He’s trying to make a long distance shot but accidently pummels the ball at a cheerleader’s face. This stunt went viral in the news and gossip sites and its planning is laid out in the Daddy’s Home Blu-ray Combo Pack.

The film takes a funny look at how a step-dad, who isn’t as cool as the biological dad as their competition for the family’s affection things go sideways quickly. The Daddy’s Home Blu-ray Combo Pack has 45 minutes of extra content including various making of features, deleted scenes and bloopers. Bloopers in a film that stars two very funny people-we’re in. The combo pack also has a digital copy of the film so you can take the daddy funny on the run to view in the cloud.

The film is rated PG-13 for suggestive content, bad language and thematic elements. Three years ago we cut the cord and have been streaming our entertainment ever since. It started out as a means to save money. However, as time went on we discovered that we were watching better quality television (and movies) in less time. Netflix is where the kids and I spend most of our TV time. There is always something on that they want to watch. We create profiles so that the kids can only be tempted by the age appropriate programming. My wife and I can then go into our profiles and watch the things that we want to.

Guitar Hero Live giveaway as part of #BPopEvents

Christmas and the holidays are super close and we’re giving away one of the most popular video games, Guitar Hero Live. What game system do you have? It doesn’t matter. How good of an axe grinder are you? Blaze a trail down butcher city, you can practice. We reviewed the game and (spoiler alert), it’s great. It’s also very challenging, but can be played on any one of three levels to match your guitar skills.
We’re doing this as part of #BPopEvents. It’s a group of cool bloggers who band (no pun intended) together every three months to giveaway buckets of stuff from the companies that work with us.

We received product for this post. Having said that, if you have a daughter-you already know and love this brand-plus-#Giveaway!!!! Being the dad of two boys we hadn’t been to many birthday parties at Build-A-Bear. Of course we had heard about them, the birth certificates, accessories and squeals of laughter that accompany such landmark days. We went to our local Build-A-Bear recently to help celebrate the launch of the Lalaloopsy Dolls.
