PIXAR has a high bar. No other movie company has such a consistently high bar to jump over for any of their releases. Cars was a good movie, but not a great movie, especially when looked at through the prism of what people expect from PIXAR. With this background established I saw Cars 2 with a key member of their demographic, a 4 year old boy and his father. Continue reading Daddy Mojo at the movies: Cars 2

Daddy Mojo at the Movies: Mr. Poppers Penguins
Jim Carrey is Mr. Popper. He’s a successful 30 something real estate developer in NYC who has a knack for acquiring impossible deals. One aspect of his professional success and personal demeanor is driven by the fact that his father didn’t spend much time with him as a child. His father was exploring the world including the South Pole, from whence the penguins in the title come from. Continue reading Daddy Mojo at the Movies: Mr. Poppers Penguins

Being a Dad and knowing what we like to do, we wanted to offer this primer for any wives that may need to steer, or avoid activities for Dad. Continue reading Manly things dad can do on Father’s Day
Dad wears a Land’s End Mesh Polo, giveaway and review
Prior to getting married I was a true slob. I cleaned my house with a leaf blower, only wore rock and roll concert t shirts, slept on a futon that was on the floor and took cold showers for months because I was too lazy to turn the hot water heater on. The only way I had a collared shirt on it was if it got arrested. And I haven’t been arrested in more than 20 years, so that would’ve been impossible. Field of Vision is the latest entry into Family Movie Night on NBC. It airs June 11 at 8:00 EST and is sponsored by Wal-Mart and P&G. Week 20-Mom and Dad, your baby is the size of a cantaloupe!
Dads, this is the halfway point of the pregnancy. However, up until now it’s been a slow build up and the really radical changes are just around the corner. Hint to dads: as the wardrobe of your bride is changing into maternity wear, surprise them with a gift certificate to a shoe store. At this point they may grouse about their clothing, however, shoes will remain the same size, so this gift is great for pregnancy and post pregnancy. Continue reading Week 20-Mom and Dad, your baby is the size of a cantaloupe!
Hey Dads-The Atlanta Baby & Child Expo is this weekend
Everybody in the Mojo house is excited as we’re expecting our second child in October. Just because we run a parenting blog don’t think that we know everything about being a dad, much less being a father to an infant. Infancy was more than a year ago and I have trouble remembering what we saw on television last night. I think it was Bait Car, but can’t be too sure. What does a stay at home dad do on Mother’s Day?
In a stereotypical situation the mom takes care of the kids, goes shopping, does some errands and cooks. In those situations the ideal gift for Mother’s Day is a day at the spa or time away from the family. This would leave the father in charge of the family where it’s presumed that the house would implode, the hot water heater would burst; no diapers would be changed and if they were it would result in the babies poop ending up on dad’s face.
