Married couples whose sex life needs a boost-Reality TV call

Before being a stay-at-home dad I had the opportunity to appear on reality television.   It was as part of my previous job and for Animal Planet’s, It’s Me or the Dog.  Being part of reality television was very pleasurable and not at all what I expected.  Continue reading Married couples whose sex life needs a boost-Reality TV call

Daylight Savings Time, children and the timeline of a parent

The end of Daylight Savings Time means different things to people in various age groups.  It signals cooler weather to everyone, as well as the pending, arrival of lots of holidays.  As I’ve gotten older and started a family it means something totally different to me now than 20 years ago.  All things about the family are good, but the changes wrought from the end of Daylight Savings Time aren’t. DIY a Stay at Home Dad can do-Replace a Doorbell Chime

My wife and I have lived in our house for three years.  During that period the doorbell has never worked.   We have two dogs and live in a cul de sac, if anybody approached the yard then it was bound to wake up at least one dog.  Some time in suburbia and father time have crept up on the dogs and people get to the front door now.  However, now there’s a newborn in the house and sleep for everybody is a priority; we needed a doorbell that’s not as jarring as two big dogs barking. The Way is an earnest father/son movie that entertains in many ways

The Way is the story about Tom (Martin Sheen), an American father who’s living a simple, successful life in California as an optometrist.  Tom’s son, Daniel (Emilio Estevez) is killed in an accident while walking “El Camino de Santiago”, a 500 mile trail that crosses from France into Spain.  Estevez doesn’t appear in the movie much, but did direct it.  After Tom arrives in France to collect the body he decides to embark on the pilgrimage that his son was doing.  Along the way Tom meets some fellow travelers who have their own reasons for doing the trek.
