Burnout, anxiety and overwhelm are all friends in the world of Inside Out. OK, burnout is more akin to Bill & Ted and overwhelm would undergo a Pixar name-change, but all of the characteristics that they represent are present in that world. Being With Busyness: Zen Ways to Transform Overwhelm and Burnout is by Brother Phap Huu & Jo Confino. It’s a self-help book on coping with the stressors that everyone has. My stress points are different than yours and usually revolve around people who look like me but are roughly 30 years younger. Does Being With Busyness shed new light on the issues that make us all a bit freaky?

3X World Champ: The Kickboxer’s Wild Journey to Redemption
Men don’t read. I know that’s a gross generalization, but for every guy that reads a book there are probably three or four women that do the same thing, except the guys would brag about having just ‘read a book’. Guys are certainly more attracted to certain writers, like Stephen King, Brad Thor or other authors with last names of Marvel superheroes. 3X World Champ doesn’t have any of those things, yet guys will love this book and their wives will even borrow the book from them and read it before they can.
The Mad Files Review: Nostalgia and Humor Explored
I bought a Mad Magazine at our local comic book store a couple of years ago. As a teenager, back in the early-to-mid 80’s, I read Mad Magazine quite often. My friends and I would sleep over, share our monthly copies, bring the Mad paperback books we’d collected, read silently and occasionally repeat one of the jokes aloud. My favorite flip-flopped between the art by Sergio Aragones, Spy Vs. Spy, and the Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions segments. If The Mad Files: Writers and Cartoonists on the Magazine that Warped America’s Brain! had a song that played along while you were reading it would be Little River Band and Reminiscing.

Dad is a proud man. My sister and I often say this when he’s being strong willed. That’s another way to say he’s not complying with what the doctors say is best for him. I am the Sandwich Generation, taking care of small children, being a husband and taking care of an elderly parent at the same time. Depending on where your dad is, relative to his ability to care for himself, TENA® MEN™ Protective Shield is something that you’ll want to consider.
If I could have a time machine conversation with myself ten years ago I would encourage myself to have the difficult talks with my dad then. Sure, you probably know what he’s going to say, but he needs to know that there are options that will allow him to prolong the active, functional life that he’s been living. One of the biggest obstacles to that is incontinence.

Why does being a dad rock? #ThanksBaby for these reasons and more
I partnered with Life of Dad and Pampers for this promotion. A politician once said, there are known knowns and known unknows. That’s a riddle, parable for parenting and political babble all mixed up in one. With Father’s Day upon us it’s time to say #ThanksBaby for making us dudes into people who we otherwise wouldn’t be.
Prior to being a father I was just a guy trying to figure things out. Even after our first son was born I didn’t know what I was doing. Now that our second born is five I feel like I know more than I did the first time, but we’re dealing with an entirely different person, so things are different. Two years from now I’ll look back where I am currently and willingly acknowledge that I didn’t know anything.

A Father’s Day book idea bound to entertain: The Bourne Initiative
We partnered with Grand Central Publishing for this post. All thoughts are our own. The book is better than the movie; we’ve all heard that phrase. But what about those instances where the films are really good too? That’s the case with Bourne. The classic and bestselling book series created by Robert Ludlum have their 14th book coming out in time for Father’s Day. The Bourne Initiative continues the story of Jason Bourne, who has proven to be one of the most popular characters in contemporary fiction, as well as on the big screen.

I Love You With All My Butt, silly, surreal statements from kids
I mentioned earlier about the metaphorical stocking that exists for Father’s Day. I Love You With All My Butt, an Illustrated Book of Big Thoughts From Little Kids is a very good fit for that and beyond.
When our 7 year old was 3 there was a knock at the door. “Who’s at the door? Is it monkeys”, he asked and then answered. Literally he asked a question and without hesitation provided us with his answer. “Well, if it’s monkey’s we’re moving”, my wife said without missing a beat.

Dad, Hundreds of Awesome Quotes is semi-inspirational bathroom reading
If Father’s Day had a stocking then Dad, Hundreds of Awesome Quotes about the Guy Who Does It all would be in there. Of course, Father’s Day doesn’t have that, instead it has neck ties and after shave. These are both two things that most of my friends (thankfully) don’t use too much of. Think of a famous person, be them man or woman and in any field, sports, entertainment, literature, religion and even some old proverbs. This book lives up to its title and indeed has hundreds of quotes from these people about their dad.
