A rattle is a rattle. We received lots of them for each child when they were born. They were silver or multicolored plastic, made a rattling sound and did everything a rattle should do. But what if a rattle could do more than just make a shaking noise when a baby moves it? A NogginStik is just that, it’s bumpy on the stick part, has multicolored lights and a mirror on the bottom of it. Continue reading NogginStik is the rattle that you wish you had as newborn

Checklist with a Tired Parent: Why is my Crawler Crying?
More Mojo was upset. At 11 months old he was crying, yelling and becoming the red faced, high pitched noise machine that makes people who don’t already have children take an oath of celibacy. When your crawler is in the thick of a tantrum it’s tempting to get frustrated. When that happened to us we did get frustrated, but also ran through our toddler Q & A checklist. Continue reading Checklist with a Tired Parent: Why is my Crawler Crying?
Lil Helper is a simple, helpful device that crawlers need to have
Little crawlers love the play the drop something game. They drop it, you pick it up and the game repeats over and over. Sometimes the game is cute. When they play the game at the dinner table with their cup of milk it’s never cute. Continue reading Lil Helper is a simple, helpful device that crawlers need to have
The potty training tip that has our 3 year old leaving diaper town
For the record we’re still potty training 3YO Mojo. His potty training started when he was 2 and a half, taking interest in the potty and having so-so results, including dad sleeping on the toilet. 3 months prior to his third birthday he started going #1 with regularity, but the elusive #2 was still not here. If you’ve seen a kid wearing something unique, hipster or rock and roll it was probably purchased at Psychobaby. They’ve got one of the largest selections we’ve seen of good rock and roll baby clothing that we’ve seen. Of course they have the relative music staples, but they also have AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, KISS and The Ramones. For my wife and I The Ramones have always provided a bonding moment for us. Sonic Youth of my Loins II: With a Chorus
When Toddler Mojo was just crawling I wrote a post that tried to explain the noises coming from him. Now that More Mojo has joined the family the noises are akin to those from two years ago, but in stereo. Continue reading Sonic Youth of my Loins II: With a Chorus
Tips for planning a three-year old toddler birthday party
Congratulations! Your toddler is about to turn 3 years old and it’s time to have a birthday party where you invite their friends, in addition to family members. There was some discussion about the third birthday. Do we invite his pre-K friends from school to this birthday or when they turn 4? We decided to do it when ours turned 3 and it turns out that the other parents had the same questions. Here’s a cheat sheet of what we learned. NextStep IP Baby Monitor: Review and Giveaway
At one of our baby showers a couple of years ago we were given a baby monitor. It consisted of a base unit that may or may not transmit the sound coming from your baby’s room. I used the phrase, may or may not, because it never worked for us. After a while we unplugged it and left in the corner of a room where it still lays today. It’s like the Island of Lost Toys for baby products that don’t work. Continue reading NextStep IP Baby Monitor: Review and Giveaway
