2015 Museum Week in Atlanta, 2 for 1 entry and more

From April 25-May1 you can score big savings at dozens of different Atlanta area tourist attractions.  It’s all being done in conjunction with the 2015 American Alliance of Museums (AAM) Annual Meeting in Atlanta and part of Museum Week. The theme “Discover What’s New,” this first annual Museum Week is designed to invite people to explore the diverse cultural offerings the city has to offer.

“The hope is that thousands of people will take advantage of all the special exhibitions hosted that week,” said Mary Pat Matheson, the executive director of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the PR & Marketing Chair for the AAM 2015 Annual Meeting. “We encourage people to explore places that are new to them and to expand their understanding of the wealth of choices they have in Atlanta.”

Puppets and animals, well more specifically animal puppets-what’s not to like?  That’s the overall story behind the latest show at Center for Puppetry Arts.  Center for Puppetry Arts is the largest organization in the United States that is devoted to the art of puppetry.  If you’re only vision of a puppet is something that slips over your hand then you need to pay them a visit.

Cosplay for a cause, helping Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation

When we arrived at the party I saw lots of scars.  Through the eye holes in my costume I could see that the scars on their heads were jagged, others straight and all of them varied in length.  Some of the patients needed help walking, others danced into the room and others used crutches or wheelchairs to make their way.  When our contact met us during the #RandomActsofBooing she told us about this event, but was hesitant on the details for a reason I now understood.

Drive an exotic sports car on a racetrack near Atlanta, really

Cars are expensive.  Exotic sports cars are even more expensive.  Driving an exotic sports car is something that I, along with most of my friends have wanted to do.  As most (see: none) of our friends have an Aston Martin, McLaren, Lamborghini or Ferrari that they’ll let us rip wide open I guess it’s up to Xtreme Xperience to put me in the driver’s seat.

I’m part of #OrangeTuesday campaign that Buy Costumes is doing this Halloween season.  As part of that tour they’re going around the country speaking to schools and donating costumes.   As I go back to my 7 year old self I see me loving the fact that various video game characters got me out of class and oh-our school gets about 75 free costumes for the students.
