It’s a fine line between collector, pack rat and starring in Hoarders. Now that I’m a dad the line is still fine and I’m trying to figure out where some of my stuff falls. Today I’ll focus on all of the Star Wars stuff.
Unfortunately, and I really do mean unfortunately, I don’t have that much Star Wars stuff. Even though I saw the first movie in 1977 in movie theatres when I was a child I never had too much stuff from the movie. If I had the figurines, models or any other toys I’d be saving them and the debate about what to do with them would be solved. Granted, I may have been a single dude on the corner with a house full of Star Wars stuff writing Single Guy Mojo, but it would’ve been solved.
I only have four things of note from the Star Wars collection. None of them are so rare that they’ll fetch big bucks on eBay, but they are odd enough to have been saved all these years in my parent’s garage.
If this belt were large enough to fit a man with a 34 inch waist I’d still wear it to parties. However, it’s the right size for a nine year old boy to wear and it’s seen better days. I’ll put some leather cleaner on it and save it for a couple years, just in case Star Wars is super trendy when Baby Mojo is nine.
It’s in decent condition, but realistically, he won’t want to use this. However, it’s an old school metal lunch box, I can’t throw it away. It will go in the attic until I can fully create my geek panic room.
The fashion statement that these shoes make is embarrassing and screams late 70s. Having said that, because I have the box and the box is in great condition, I can’t throw it away. It will join the lunch box in the attic for a Star Wars party.
I was shocked, shocked to find that I still had this shirt. I remember wearing it almost daily in the summer of 77. There are no holes and the iron on logo has no tears. There are however a couple small stains and Mommy Mojo has forbidden Baby Mojo from wearing the dirty shirt. Is it dirty to me? No. Would you let your child wear this shirt?
So should you let your child play with your Star Wars stuff? No. That garbage is collecting in your house and stopping you from moving out of the 70s. Email me and I’ll help you get rid of it, which will give you space in your house and make your spouse happy.
PLEASE DON’T.
We welcome all Star Wars stuff, don’t listen to what the woman in the previous comment said.
Absolutely! Star Wars is MUCH better than Star Trek…btw…Feel the need to clarify that.
Absolutely not! If they wish, they can have their own collection. 🙂 Plus they can get plenty of Star Wars toys from Target or Walmart. 🙂
