Stop the college football TV tether-with TuneIn, 85 teams & more

I partnered and was compensated by Life of Dad, LLC and TuneIn for this promotion. If you’re really into your college football location shouldn’t matter.  Really what kind of fan are you that you don’t put life on hold in the fall months so that you can tailgate at your alma mater?  Well, some of my friends do put August through December on hold so that they can at least hear the college football games.  A much easier solution is the TuneIn app.  With this simple app, that is free, you can listen to football and basketball coverage of 85 teams.

Prior to Bowl season Grilling with TuneIn

We’ve got some very fond memories of tailgating.  However, with two small children, some debt and a desire to not battle big crowds, I’m not ready to jump back in that pool.   As our kids get older we’re able to travel more, but still not willing to jump the monetary shark by bringing a 6 and 4 year old to a game that they’ll just want to leave three quarters into.

How I used to tailgate was all day, go early, stay late and yell.  Sometimes my shirt would make it home with me and other times it would simply fall prey to gravity and my forgetful nature. As I got older tailgating was about the food, the company, networking and the game.

For example now we’ll grill out, relax at home or maybe go to a friend’s house.  Being married and most of our friends having dogs, the dawg aspect is still here.  Another constant is always food, usually grilled and most of the time involving bacon.  Ideally for me it also involves eggs over easy on top of a burger with diced peppers inside, but that’s a technicality.

All of these, except for my burger preferences, are great reasons as to why TuneIn is an excellent way to catch the game.

Because TuneIn is an app you can catch the game anywhere.  Camping in the mountains, at your in-laws place in Canada, camping near Kyoto-just download the free app and you are plugged in to 85 college teams, NHL, NFL, soccer, MMA and many, many more.

These 85 schools on TuneIn have their own, personalized 24/7 station that gives fans international access to team specific live play-by-play, pre-game and post-game shows, live and archived weekly coaches shows, archived games, and in-season game replays.   Just search for team names or visit the site to check out some of the fan favorites.  It’s a veritable zoo of collegiate mascots from badgers, dogs, fish, people, cats to just what is that thing anyway?

TuneIn is the same way with college basketball. If March Madness is passé and you always follow then this is your scene.   They have 8 of the top 10 ranked men’s programs and they carry broadcasts of 55 women’s college basketball teams-again with 8 of the top 10 nationally.

Oh, and those bowl games coming up?  Are you travelling and planning your vacation around where you’ll be able to catch the games?  Stop, enjoy the vaca and load TuneIn accordingly.  It’s simple, I mean watching cat videos online simple. Follow TuneIn on twitter, search for the app and be the mobile fan that you want to be.  It could even be as simple as the stadiums not cooking their burgers just the way that you like them.  Foodies can still be college football fans, can’t they?
