From its title, Floating Bunnyhead could be thought of as a comic book that’s OK for young readers. Once you dig into Floating Bunnyhead you realize that it has more in common with South Park and to an extent, The Simpsons. Think Aqua Teen Hunger Force and you get an idea of the humor and subject matter of Floating Bunnyhead. This comic book is not appropriate for young readers, but it is fabulous, creative, weird fun that teens and up will enjoy.
Floating Bunnyhead is made of four main characters. Floating Bunnyhead is the floating head of a rabbit whose origin is unknown and he appears to be invincible. Armless Bear is a pink bear who used to be a boxer, but now works as a private eye. Slicey lives with Bunnyhead, is a slice of deluxe pizza and communicates through emoticons. Raptoro is a piñata who used to star in the (fictional) cartoon series Pinata Animal Friends.
The comic book is a meandering creative, imaginative trip that starts with our friends lounging at home. They leave to go to the liquor store, purchase a lottery tickets and Armless Bear wins a trip to Westland Amusement Resorts. Once they get to Westland, it plays along the lines of the movie WestWorld, albeit with armless bears and floating bunnyheads.
The art is Floating Bunnyhead realistic cartoony. Yeah, I made up that term. It’s not the sharp edged art that one might expect with a superhero comic book. Here the characters are realistic, have appropriate soft edges when needed, but can get darker when needed. Having said all of that, the bright, vivid colors in Bunnyhead make it a good read that produced several laughs and more smiles.
