The summer movie season is in full swing and somewhere in the middle of it is the horror movie, The Conjuring. The Conjuring comes to movie theaters on July 19. We’ve seen it per their terms and conditions can’t review the movie until that day. However, the film scored a massive 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and would we give away tickets to something that we willingly knew wasn’t entertaining?
The Conjuring is about the true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Warrens are world renowned paranormal investigators. In 1952 they founded the New England Society for Physic Research and after that investigated thousands of haunting, possessions and demons. The Conjuring is about the case of the case of a family in Connecticut that has mysterious things happening in their house. First the wife starts bruising then they hear things, see things and the real trouble starts.
As a film, what is fascinating about The Conjuring is that it’s rated R, yet doesn’t have any gory, bloody or especially violent moments. When director James Wan asked the MPAA why the film received an R rating they replied, “it’s just too scary”.
