However, with the Phillips hue, it’s an entirely new lamp that provides ambience and mood, instead of just light.
In the kitchen he also recommended Phillips hue Light strip to go underneath our kitchen cabinets. These are skinny strips of lights that could easily be affixed to the underside of our cabinets to light up the kitchen. They operate the same way, so they’re full programmable and can span any color under the rainbow.
Going up the stairs he mentioned Levolor Blinds. He said them in passing, but that is one of the greatest needs in our house currently. We have a large bay window over the front door, 20’ high that heats up the house. “You could get a remote controlled pair of blinds for that window”, he said.
As we went on he suggested a MyQ Garage Door that can open the door using a proximity sensor, a Netgear ORBI router that doesn’t require an extender-and does not look like an upside down black spider. There were so many ideas that he had that I had not even thought of when it came to technology and our house. More than that, if I had a general question about how to do this, how long it would take to complete or rough estimate of cost he knew all of the answers.
We’re still in a holding pattern for our house. The stove has ceased its peak efficiency and is working with half of its burners. That will be the first thing we move on, possibly to the Samsung Dual Oven we saw in-store. If we were ready to proceed with any of the other upgrades then our Best Buy In-Home Consultant would make a list of everything and be our technology contractor.
