Paint By Sticker Kids Christmas is the latest in the best selling activity series that’s been entertaining our kids for years. The concept behind these books is very simple. There’s a sheet that has a couple dozen stickers on it. Beneath each sticker is a number that corresponds to a number that’s within a blank space in the final image. Young mosaic artists will put the stickers in the picture one at a time until the final image is revealed.
What makes Paint By Sticker Kids Christmas unique, aside from being Christmas themed, is that a couple of the final pictures have glitter stickers. I asked our 10 year old puzzle kid if he liked this book and he said, “yes.” I followed up and wanted details as to what he liked best about it, “the stickers”, he replied.
Yes, the glitter stickers are cool and draw your eyes more so than regular ones. The glitter stickers aren’t on every picture, but the ones that they are featured really sparkle next to those without them. Thankfully for young crafters they’re on every other page, so they don’t have to go too far.
If this is your child’s first Paint By Sticker book it is OK, nay, it is all but expected that there will be multiple instances of white space where the sticker doesn’t cover the blank space. These books are made for small hands who are just figuring out their boundaries and limits of their coordination. The stickers are not too small. Kids will be able to fully remove them from the ‘safe’ page and put them onto the ‘picture’ page without causing drama or needing much help. Those younger crafters might want you there, just as reassurance, but they’ll do all of the crafting themselves.
What’s great about Paint By Stickers Kids Christmas, as well as, the other books, is that it completely occupies them. It’s a ghost town when our oldest had the book. He’s hunkered down in his room or on the living room floor, silently removing stickers and then putting them into place. The only time we hear from him is when he’s finished with the book or especially pleased with how one of them turned out.
