Lincoln Loud, you are forgiven. Heretofore, the only episodes that I’ve seen of The Loud House were on YouTube. Unfortunately those episodes are presented with incorrect aspect ratios, bad audio and at a speed just above normal. Our son would come back home (from someone that had cable) and watch The Loud House. It’s the story of a well meaning 11 year old boy, his ten sisters and his best friend. The Loud House, Welcome to the Loud House, Season 1, Volume 1 is available on DVD on May 23.
Each half hour show consists of two episodes and Welcome to the Loud House, Season 1, Volume 1 has 26 adventures. You can watch them in French, Spanish or English. We used to watch French and Spanish movies when we were learning them and it’s a great way for any age to learn fluency. Students might only know a couple of words, but when they hear them in the show that vocabulary will be hammered in.

Our 7 year old was watching disc one in Spanish for the first 10 minutes before he called us into the room to fix it. Either he’s learning Spanish at a higher level than I thought or The Loud House is still entertaining in an utterly foreign tongue.
It is a fun show and the manic, sped-up version that we were used to seeing on YouTube makes us want to reconsider our streaming-only home status. The Loud House is appropriate for ages 5 and up. There are some scenes where the eldest sister talks about kissing a boy and it’s done in the typical way that an elementary school child would perceive it.
