Tales of the TMNT: Super Shredder is out on DVD and it marks a change for our heroes in a half shell. For one it has episodes that haven’t even aired on Nickelodeon yet and it has a series of complete stories that bring back classic characters and new ones with completely different appearances.
The DVD also brings in episodes from 2016 for 11 that are presented on two discs. The episodes on Tales of the TMNT: Super Shredder include, The Super Shredder, Darkest Plight, The Power Inside Her, Tokka vs. the World, Tale of the Tiger Claw, Requiem, Owari, Scroll of the Demogragon, The Forgotten Swordsman, Heart of Evil and End Times. It’s 247 minutes of new episodes that previously haven’t been on DVD. These episodes pick up immediately after Bat In The Belfry, the last episode that was on their previous DVD, Earth’s Last Stand.
The trailer for the episodes as they ran on television is impressive and feels like a show that’s too old for our kids. However, our 5 and 7YO kids saw the episodes and were fine with the content. There’s genuine tension, fun animation with a slight 60’s vibe and the show feels very much like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures comic book that we like so much. As a matter of the fact the two go hand in glove or turtle in shell.
