Playtime with PJ Masks

We received product for review-all thoughts are our own. The fabulous thing about some children’s shows is that, if you time it correctly they can ride the wave from pre-k through elementary school. For us a perfect example of this is Octonauts. Our (now 7 year old) son started watching them when he was 3 and still enjoys them.  Consequently, he has almost every Octonauts toy made, had birthday parties for them and has seen the stage show. His younger brother was the first of the two to latch onto PJ Masks. He started watching that show when he was 3 and has amassed a small fleet of Cat Cars, Gekko Mobiles and Owl Gliders.

Up until now the big thing missing was the play set. That’s been solved and he’s been playing with the PJ Masks Headquarters Play set now and loves it. This is big, high quality and has several floors of action with many different ways to engage young children and their toys.

The PJ Masks Headquarters Play set comes with a Catboy and Cat Car included in the set. It’s important to point out that this is a smaller version of the vehicle that you can purchase independent of the play set. This Cat Car only seats Catboy, where as the other vehicles that you can purchase individually can accommodate each one of the PJ Masks.

Putting the play set together was quite simple, except for the fact that our 7 year old insisted that he do it himself.  That complicated things a bit; however, parents who don’t have the assistance of over eager helpers can put this together in 15 minutes. For us the joy that he had on his face was payoff enough to compensate for the 45 minutes construction time, which included the occasional adult assistance.

The play set has a 3-story elevator, zip line, a series of sliding doors, ramp that goes down from the second floor and more in this 2-sided toy. It’s big and made with thick quality plastic. The toy is also priced appropriately at $79.99. That’s not cheap, but if your child is starting their PJ Masks journey and will 3 through 5 years old this will pay off. If your child is 6 or 7 and already on their way to save the day then this is something that they’ll immediately start to enjoy and role play with.

Each PJ Masks has their own vehicle that you can purchase for the play set. They all roll easily, can fit every member and are durable. They’ve been pushed off the third floor of the headquarters more than a few times with no scratched paint or broken parts. They’ve also seen lots of individual action on the driveway and other hills that aren’t as forgiving as the smooth play set ramp.

Lastly the pajamas and let the cuteness begin. They’re both in the steady rotation of their go-to PJ’s. As this is the Christmas/winter time, it’s the elf jammies or the group shot of the PJ Masks that escort our kids to sleep every night.  Either way it’s win/win, especially here as the kids sleep into the night to save the day.
