Let’s play with the toys from Miles From Tomorrowland, season 2

Miles From Tomorrowland, season 2 has launched on television and we got a chance to play with some of the toys.  Our boys are big fans of the series, loved the toys that they had and were eager to get their hand s on the new ones. “Why do they have new toys”, they asked. I explained to them that the show was not cancelled and that the new Miles From Tomorrowland toys were an addition to last years and are part of the new story line.

In season two of Miles From Tomorrowland they keyword is Galatech! Galatech was introduced in the season finales of season 1 when the Calistos discover a secret galaxy that was revealed through a black hole.  The discovery of Galatech means new technology, characters, gadgets and vehicles for kids to play with at home.

We were sent Gadfly’s Scourge, Photon Flier and the characters Haruna and Prince Rygan for the kids to play with. The Photon Flier has a Miles pilot in the package and he fits snuggly in the cockpit.  Even though our kids haven’t seen an episode of season 2 yet they knew immediately how to work and play with the plane.

 

Its front nose slides forward when the kids want to simulate hyperspace.  The biggest difference between this and other Miles From Tomorrowland is that the wings for the Photon Flier slide back when it’s on land. Put the wings back like a traditional plane when you’re flying to a mission and this two-seater can discover new adventures from Galatech as often as you’d like.  There is also a light up button that illuminates the cockpit and wings.

Gadfly’s Scourge is a smaller ship that fits the personality of its pilot. It’s small, arrow shaped with two torpedoes and a grabber that comes out from the underside of the nose. Both of the new vehicles have three wheels on the bottom that allow for land play. Our kids used this feature to simulate rolling take offs and crash landings. Crash landings, when dealing with children’s toys there are always crash landings.

We played with the Tomy line from Miles From Tomorrowland when they first came out last year and they have very little wear and tear. None of the toys are broken and are all holding up very nicely as they get played with at least once a week.

A favorite place for our kids to play with the Miles From Tomorrowland toys from season 2 is the slide. The wheels on both of the new vehicles allow for fabulous crash landings while the play area up top allows for a staging area for the crew.

Bottom line: If you have a child who is 4-8 they know about Miles From Tomorrowland. The show is packed with STEM-type situations, positive role models for boys and girls, as well as, lots of kid friendly action. The Tomy toys from Miles From Tomorrowland are well made, reasonably priced and allow for imagination based free play for a long time.
