June is National Adopt-A-Shelter Cat Month. At our heart we’re a cat guy. If the internet had a sense of smell its number one use would be bacon, however, because it doesn’t its go-to calling is cat videos. Before being a dad I did PR for an animal shelter. During that time I learned lots about human behavior, various social media strategies as it relates to animals, animal control vs. a humane society and lots of other things. As part of Adopt-A-Shelter Cat Month we’re giving away a Vera Bradley Camocat Tote courtesy of Oil-Dri Corporation of America.
That’s a name that doesn’t come to the top of your mind if you’re a cat owner. However, Cat’s Pride is something that cat people know and Oil-Dri is their manufacturer. They’ve got a new line of Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Care®. Imagine if you will a cat litter that weighs 50% less than traditional litter and keeps odors away for 10 days. When our cats were with us that was always the roulette game we played-how many days can we not scoop the litter?
One of the factors that weighed into that decision was how far out we were from garbage day. If garbage day was soon we’d scoop or if the cat litter was jammed up with large blocks then we’d scoop. We scooped a lot too, that was partially due to the smell also.
The new Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Care clumps and comes in scented and unscented hypoallergenic varieties.
Katherine Heigl is part of the product’s launch. Have you seen the ‘cats are complicated, great litter is simple’ campaign? She plays a cat counselor to people who are trying to relate to their cats. Cat people will get it and the tag line will ring true.
Cat’s Pride is also donating a portion of each Fresh & Light Ultimate Care to the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation. They’re a No-Kill shelter in the Los Angeles area doing great things for critters that need a hand. The charity also does some low cost vaccinations; fund spays/neuters, relocates animals and has assisted 25,000 animals since 2008.
To announce Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Care they’re giving away a Vera Bradley Camocat Tote. It’s valued at $75.
