National Streaming Day is May 20 and we’ve got a cool giveaway for a Roku Streaming Stick. Just like National Bacon Day or International Cat Video Day, we don’t celebrate them exclusively when the calendar planners deemed it so. We stream every day. For us it started with a piece of what is now history, the Roku 2 XS. It allowed us to cut the cable, watch better quality television-while at the same time spending less time in front of the TV and opened up worlds of children’s programming options.
That square box was discontinued in 2013 and the Roku Streaming Stick took its place. The Roku Streaming Stick has 8 times more processing power than the its predecessor. It has oodles of new features including Hotel and Dorm connect which makes it simple to travel or go to different televisions. Your Roku channels are the new “So what CD’s do you have” for a new generation. If you listen carefully my CD’s in the attic are crying with age and isolation.
We love the new Roku Streaming Stick. It searches for the newest and most popular viewing options based on Roku customers four times a day. Like the river you see when your foot touches the pebble at the bottom it will never, ever be the same again.
For the super high tech and mobile folks you can listen through a mobile phone or tablet using the Roku Mobile App. It also has Dual-band MIMO wireless, play personal video and photos using Play On Roku feature and can cast video directly from Netflix or YouTube mobile apps to the TV. Apparently if you ask it nicely it will also help you celebrate National Bacon Day by cooking breakfast whilst balancing your check book. That last one was a joke. Really, who uses a checkbook anymore?
For us, the remote control is smaller, the interface is much faster and it still allows us everything that we loved about our Roku without the wires. This giveaway for a Roku Streaming Stick is for the stick, remote control, 2 batteries and AC adaptor. It’ll come in the box and setting it up will take five minutes.
