Aye caramba, it’s almost Christmas and you need something to complete that magical list for good boys, girls or yourself. Yeah, it’s quite obvious we push things to the last minute and this gift guide is for you. All of these items rock, are super durable and will absolutely do what they’re intended to do. It’s worth nothing that nobody paid to be here, but we were provided with samples for some of the items.
Hickory Farms
When I was a kids this was our go-to holiday treat. It was a Hickory Farms Summer Sausage with some cheese and mustard. I thought I was a big time adult grubbing on grown up food. It’s still super tasty and our kids will be sampling it this time too. There’s a Hickory Farms near you.
BoogieBoard
Per our review, this product confused us at first. However, we’re now big fans of it, our kids use it daily to doodle or practice letters and I’m the coolest kid in meetings when I start taking notes on my Boogie Board.
MightyMug
It all started when my wife spilled her coffee. I just got this mug that won’t spill……and I promptly starting using it. Mighty Mug keeps my tea hot through a three hour period and there is no chance of knocking it over.
Toms Shoes
Buy a pair and the company will donate a pair to a child who needs them. It’s a warm, fuzzy catch phrase, but what is genuinely surprising is how comfortable the shoes are. Skeptical before I was, now I’m a Toms believer.
Minions
Minions is the kind of film that children 14 and under will howl with laughter at. It has some slightly crude potty humor for the younger set, soft spy gags for older kids and the animation is top notch.
Crayola Star Wars sets
Must resist Star Wars puns……A metal tin with Darth Vader, big boxes of Star Wars Crayola Crayons (with a sharpener in the back and special effect crayons in the box), picture sheets and more.
Playmation Marvel Avengers Starter Pack
Playmation Marvel Avengers Starter Pack is a revolutionary toy. It’s an active play toy that requires kids to use their imagination as they jump, bob, weave and shoot villains all the while protecting the Earth. This is not a video game, but it can work with an app so kids can see the places that they’re imagining.
Tonka Metal Diecast Bodies
Kicking it classic style, scaled down, metal driven fun with a brand whose quality is still living large in my garage 30+ years later. Tonka has a wide variety of smaller vehicles, great for filling gaps, stockings or mid-size rewards.
Nintendo New 3DS
The New Nintendo 3DS has 3D that really does jump off of the screen. It has Face Tracking 3D that genuinely makes the images jump, more power, built-in amiibo support, share data, a better camera and more.
Skylanders Superchargers
Gone are the mid torso switching Skylanders. Now they’re in cars, boats and planes, complete with vehicles and characters that you can switch up for different combinations. This is one of the best all age games out there, kids know the brand and parents don’t need to fear anything on screen except for their ability to play it better than the child.
Guitar Hero Live
Guitar Hero Live is back! It’s a challenging as you want it to be as you play in front of a live crowd. Guitar Hero Live has two ways to play, the disc component puts you in the band, for better or worse and the crowd will let you know. GHTV has hundreds of current songs for you to play in, the better you play the more access you get. This is a fun game for genuine Guitar Hero(es) to those that simply want to have fun.
Phillips Norelco 9300 Electric Shaver
This is a very close shave and it’s electric. Please refrain from dancing after that. We’ve been using this for six months and can feel the improved difference and speed in our shave. At $200 it seems pricey, but the quality in the Phillips Norelco 9300 is there and it’ll last for ages.
