Hey, we’re an ambassador for Denny’s. All thoughts are our own. On average one in five children are hungry and don’t receive the adequate amount needed. For years Denny’s has been raising funds for No Kid Hungry since their inception and are consistently one of their largest donors-with your help. That one in five figure varies from state to state, but take it as a county and 16 million kids in the United States are in that boat. Every year Denny’s makes it easy for you to support No Kid Hungry and has donated 2.3 million dollars so far, which provided 23 million meals to kids across the country.
Dig into that math for a moment and it’s quite simple. 23 million meals delivered and they-along with your help, have donated 2.3 million dollars. Break it down and do the math Vanilla Ice. For every $1 you donate No Kid Hungry is able to translate that into helping 10 children. Well that math was much better than I remember from high school.
Through October 12 at every Denny’s location is working with No Kid Hungry in a couple of ways. You can donate in the restaurant when you eat. For every $3 you donate you’ll receive $9 in coupons, which you can then apply to your bill for eating there in the first place. That $3 donation will then continue multiplying as it helps children in your area who are hungry. For the Trekkies out there think of your donation as a Tribble that you do not want to stop multiplying.
You can also donate online. The internet is great for things other than cat and Star Trek videos, yes. Simply dig into the link and donate. The same tribble multiplying like math happens online too. Donate $1 and you’re helping 10 kids. For fans of a certain shampoo commercial from the 70’s, if you donate $2 it’ll help 20 kids, $3-30 kids and so on and so on. Just imagine if you donated $10?
“At Denny’s we love to feed people, and we’re committed to ensuring that kids across the country have access to a wholesome breakfast, the most important meal of the day,” said Denny’s Chief Executive Officer John Miller. “No Kid Hungry is one of the most recognized and impactful anti-hunger campaigns in the country, and we’re proud of our longstanding partnership with them, working together to combat childhood hunger and help make a difference, one meal at a time.”
If you visit Denny’s during this time period you’ll notice that they’ve all been adorned with orange. That’s the official color of the No Kid Hungry campaign, your eyesight is fine, well, I don’t know if it’s fine, but it’s the same that it was when you entered Denny’s. Also, some of the DreamWorks Animation characters and franchises like Puss in Boots, Dinotrux (which is Awesome! BTW..) and Shrek will be featured in-store on posters to remind and encourage customers to support No Kid Hungry.
