I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Klondike. I received free product coupons to facilitate my review as well as compensation for my participation. The dog days of summer are a cruel thing indeed. It’s the stuffy, heat blanket of summer that covers you when all you want to do is dig into something cold. Using a spoon to dig into your ice cream is so 2005 and not having candy bars mixed with your ice cream has always been inexcusable. Klondike has solved this issue by having a magical infusion of the candy bars that we know and love, with the convenient packaging that we’re already eating.
Have you seen a movie lately? Well there really are some great ones out there, but if you arrived early then you might have seen a commercial for the new Klondike Kandy Bars. In your mind’s eye, this is how the hybrid of a Klondike Bar mixed with your favorite candy bar happened.
Sure it might not have happened in a library or hospital, but the mixing of the two is one that you’ll welcome. We tried the Klondike Krunch, Heath, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough Swirl and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Bars. If you were to ask our children (when they weren’t stuffing their faces) which one was their favorite it would alternate between the Heath and Mint Chocolate Chip Bar. They’ve also got Carmel & Peanuts, Cookies & Cream, Mint Fudge Cookie and Fudge Crunch.
Jake is on the cusp of getting brand names and what to call them. But since trying the Klondike Kandy Bars he’s asked repeatedly if we could get some of the ‘polar bear ice cream’. Twist my arm little man. We picked up some more of the Klondike Reese’s so that mom could try it too.
The taste is not an overwhelming sensation of the candy bars. It’s just enough to bring up the flavor of a Heath, Reese’s or Cookie Dough Swirl to make the taste buds say hello again. You know the taste of cookie dough? That yummy, almost soft/solid feel of it, as the chocolate and dough traipses over your taste buds? The Klondike Kandy Bar is like that, except with it being prefaced by a chocolate shell that crunches, followed by ice cream and then the cookie dough taste. Oh my.
As with the Klondike Bars that you’re used to it’s simple eating, just peel back the wrapper and eat. Goodbye or at least welcome reprieves from the dog days, or anytime that you need a good dessert.
