Hey, hey, this post has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #Back2SchoolStockUp #CollectiveBias It’s great when things are win/win. With back to school parents will be making more lunches and having the kids actually sit down for breakfast. But what if you could get a free Scholastic Book just for stocking up on the things that you need for to get the kids out the door? Stop by
Our oldest son has always been a reader. Even before he knew his letters he liked turning the pages to books that had words. Now he’s in Kindergarten, can read lots of sight words and will even do more when mom and dad aren’t around.
When I was a child I remember the first time that I really got in trouble was in the first grade. The book fair was that week and I had ordered a handful of titles without my parent’s permission. Yeah, that was a lesson in honesty and the need for six year-olds to plan ahead when ordering good books.
The options for the Scholastic Books are first class and ones that they’re a beginning, middle, tween or teen reader. They’ve also got books in Spanish. That’s a great way to go if they’re learning Spanish and want to learn it in a form that’s really friendly to pop culture.
First up though is breakfast. It’s a bowl of Tiger cereal to them, AKA Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes to get them out the door by the 6:50 bus stop time. Prior to that I made lunch where I snuck in the Fruity Snacks Mixed Berry snacks. Not surprisingly that is the one item in their lunch boxes that always come back empty. Sometimes the Fruity Snacks will be an extra treat after school and, on more than one occasion I’ve eaten a package whilst giving them out.
Now that I’ve been to our local Sam’s Club, purchased some of the 13 specially marked boxes of Kellogg’s products (and shared them with the kids), it’s time to get our free books! We’ve got our eyes on Clifford, The Big Yellow Bus and Night of the Zombie Goldfish.
-Go to the website and click on ‘Enter Code Now.’
-Click on ‘Get Started’ to redeem without signing into Kellogg’s Family Rewards OR click ‘Log In’ to redeem through your Kellogg’s Family Rewards account

-Enter the address where you’d like your book to be mailed, as well as, the 16 digit code. The code is written on the inside of the box.
-That’ll take you to a ‘thanks’ page that recaps what you’ve done. Then click over to the ‘redeem page’ and you’ll be given the option of receiving your free book or giving it away to a local library. One will be donated to them anyway, regardless of which option you choose.
-Start browsing! Once you find the book you want simply add it to your cart, confirm that everything in your profile is correct and submit.
This all sounds great you say. What if I’m not a Sam’s Club member? Bring this invitation printed out to the Member Services Desk at your local Sam’s Club for a pass to shop for the day. A 10% service fee applies on all non-member purchases when shopping with this One-Day Pass (not applicable in CA, SC or Elmsford, NY). The 10% service fee does not apply if the non-member decides to join the Club at the time of purchase.
And this weekend, August 22 and 23 your local Sam’s Club is having in-store demos where you can sample some of tasty Kellogg’s snacks. To find the one closes to you just check out this list.
So what book would you order? We’re torn between Attack of the Giant Hamster and Class Trip From the Black Lagoon. But then again, an early reader Spanish book would be great to have too. Either way the kids get a great book; a local school gets one for their library and our kids get some great breakfast food and snacks. I stand corrected; I guess that’s a win/win/win.
My kids are starting school next week – Looks like I may have to head to Sam’s Club and stock up on snacks (and get a few free books)! #client
The books! We were torn on getting one of them in Spanish. It would be good practice, on the next box that’ll be our go-to.
