$235 worth of Jim Henson comics-pay what you want

This is really a match made in felt cloth heaven. You can get receive bulk digital copies of The Dark Crystal, Fraggle Rock and others for the super low price of $8.50. That is a very big discount from regular prices, plus that money goes to the expansion happening at Center for Puppetry Arts. There is also a chance for you to pay more, as a straight donation to the project.

When Fraggle Rock: Journey to the Everspring came out last year on Boom Studios we loved it. The mini-series is all ages comic book fun that any age can read, enjoy and want more of. Ditto The Storyteller Witches, I actually liked that series more because the art was more realistic and brought back memories of the show.

You could also get the novelization of The Dark Crystal, Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, The Storyteller, the original Storyteller graphic novel or The Musical Monsters of Turkey Hollow for that same price.

The recipient of this fundraiser is well worth visiting. Center for Puppetry Arts is the largest organization in the United States that is dedicated to puppets. Puppets scared the mess out of me when I was a child. I didn’t care for Sesame Street or The Muppets because I thought they were real and real thing should not be purple, furry and know my name.

As an adult I’m teaching my children that puppets aren’t real, are great things to enjoy, fun to watch and are operated by masters. I totally credit my admiration of stop motion animation to me enjoying puppets as much as I do now.  As a family we saw Click, Clack, Moo, the new show at Center for Puppetry Arts this past weekend. It’s great, the perfect length for little kids and has a great variety of puppets.  They’re having massive renovations that will more than double their space for exhibits. One of those exhibits will be a big Jim Henson display, which is guaranteed to be awesome.

You can help by getting the comics, which are in and of themselves, awesome.  It ends quickly though. Act by June 17 to take advantage of the savings, get the comics and help the puppets.
