Scooby-Doo! Team Up is exactly what I was expecting from a Scooy-Doo comic book. This is one story, completely stilly, great for all ages and also introduces (?) a new generation to The Jetsons. By the title, Scooby-Doo Team-Up you know that they meet other superheroes or animated characters. In this issue they meet the futuristic family, introduce them to ghosts and figure out a way home.
The issue immediately starts out with Scooby and everyone on a treadmill-in space. Fans of a certain age will immediately recognize the treadmill and the two figures beside it. Once that crazy thing stops (and slams them into the wall) they get to terms with where they are, meet George, Elroy, Judy, Jane and Rastro, or Astro. Scooby and Astro bond and Rosie the robot comes around offers everyone snacks and drinks.
Shockingly, shortly after that a ghost appears. I know, a ghost in a Scooby-Doo comic, it’s crazy.
The Jetsons have never seen a ghost and it scares Mister Spacely half out of his mind. Even Rosie the robot runs away, which further alarms Shaggy and causes him and Scooby to get caught in a shrinking spaceship.
Kids will like the comic because there’s a nice blend of action and sharp artwork. There’s lots of physical humor for them to follow, even if they can’t read all of the words yet. Scooby-Doo! Team Up is just for the kids, but it’s good enough for parents to enjoy reading with or to them-and that’s something you can’t say for some all age comic books.
