I partnered and was compensated by Life of Dad, LLC and Lee for this. All thoughts are our own and we do love wearing pants. As part of our #LeeGoodDeed challenge we were offered 4 options by Lee Jeans. Because of the hectic nature of the week and the ages of our children the one that made the most sense was to take a friend’s children for the day. That brought our net total of children to four and thanks to my wife and serendipitous timing of multiple community events our day was packed.
Before being a dad I worked in the non-profit sector for many years. During that time I learned lots about the humane society industry, as well as, how other, quality non-profit organizations operate. It’s challenging to find an organization that accepts youth volunteers for various reasons. More often than not those reasons revolve around insurance and the fact that the youth aren’t ‘helping’ as much as the experience that they are learning from.
The main exceptions to that non-profit rule are food banks and city organized community events. Building houses or animal shelters are few and far between that actually allow youth under 16 to assist with the mission of the organization in a ‘hands on’ way.
With that knowledge in my head we packed up the four children, aged 3, 5, 7 and 10 to visit a number of locations for various special events. First up was a visit to the grand parents and their holiday party. It was a flurry of making crafts, watching them eat, making sure the little one didn’t touch all the food and remaining on schedule.
Our free time time, such as it was, consisted of going to a local park. This was great because it allowed the kids to run and get their sillies out. It’s also an awesome park.
After an hour of running, climbing, swinging and more we headed out to our next event, a gingerbread house decorating competition. Well, competition isn’t the right word because all the kids had fun with gingerbread houses, plate crafts, seasonal photos and far too much candy.

At the end of this 6 hour play session we took our two borrowed kids back home. It was a busy half day, but my legs felt great. Was it the Lee Modern Series and the fact that they feature Active Comfort Denim? Maybe it was the fact that I couldn’t rest, coupled with caffeinated tea and the Lee Jeans?
Either way, the Lee Jeans were comfy and felt like real denim because they are real denim. We purchased a pair of jeans one time that were more fashion that function. A combination of both is better and that’s what we got with the Modern Series. We can use them for date night, a day with the kids or working in the yard and they’re good to go.
Looking for Lee Jeans now? Over at their website you can pick up a men’s pair for $31, that’s discounted by about $20, so chop chop. You can also visit your local Kohls, Sears or JC Penney.
Back to the #LeeGoodDeed day. While we were taking care of the 2 extra children their mother and one of her other, older children were volunteering at a local community charity. They helped sort donated food, clothing and other items sold at discount to benefit local programs.
Our offer to assist her by taking 2 of their children, brought forth a volunteering effort that they’ve wanted to do for a while. That is a bit of serendipitous planning there that let one family volunteer while another one allowed a parent to detox. Win/win.
