Fraggle Rock, Journey to the Everspring 3 continues classic Fraggle fun

What’s a Fraggle?  What’s a Muppet?  Isn’t a Muppet merely a Fraggle that lives underground and sings more often?  No, not really.  People have been clamoring for a Blu-ray release of the television series for a while to no avail.  To them I would submit that there are still lots of Fraggle charm and proof of that is in the four issue mini-series Journey to the Everspring.

Fraggle Rock Journey to the Everspring 3

Fraggle Rock, Journey to the Everspring has been consistent since the first issue.  It’s a four issue mini-series about the gang who are on the quest for the Everspring.  Their shire….er…..home is drying up and needs a new water supply.  That stream of consciousness typo back there brings up a great point for audiences that are perfectly suited for this all age comic book Fraggle tale.

Certain aspects of LOTR are too intense or difficult for young readers to grasp.  They’ll love the creatures and adventures, but we parents need to baby step them into Tolkien.  The Fraggles are a great baby step into middle Earth and a great story in their own right.

In Journey to the Everspring the Fraggles meet the Dozers while out looking for water.  It turns out that the Dozers are having the same water issues too, but know where the Everspring is located.  Unfortunately it’s located near some Gorgs who would like to eat some Fraggles.

One thing that every reader will notice about the comic book is the thickness of the cover when compared to the inside art. It’s thicker and gives a subtle feeling that book is classier and more important than simply an all ages comic book.  Another bonus of a thicker cover is that it’s more durable BTW.

You’ll also notice how happy you are when you read the comic.  It’s a simple story about some cute, underground creatures going about on an adventure.  Our 5 year old likes the comic.  He doesn’t know any of the history with the Fraggles, but he like the art in the comic and is curious about the story.

Archaia is behind the comic and it costs $3.99.  It would be great if they included a digital copy of the comic with the book, but that is something that we’ll have to bridge in the future.  Do we stay physical or cross full over to digital comics?  Right now it depends on the release as to how it’s consumed.
