Before being a dad I worked in the humane industry. I did PR, social media and various aspects of management for a large animal shelter. During my time there I learned about the value and work of a service dog, as well as, the healing powers that animals provide. On Friday, September 19 at 11 AM, Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan and his service dog Tuesday will be at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta to read their New York Times bestselling book, Tuesday Tucks Me In.
Tuesday Tucks Me In is a book that’s aimed at children 4-8. This is the children’s version of the book that Montalvan wrote for adults, Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him. Tuesday Tucks Me In is very age appropriate and told from Tuesday’s point of view.
It details a day in the life of this service dog and all of the positive things that they do. Captain Montalván is a 17-year veteran of the U.S. Army.
Families and dog lovers of all ages are invited to hear this heartwarming story in a read-aloud session by Montalván himself. Tuesday will also be in attendance. Attendees are invited to stay after the reading to ask questions and get their books signed. Books will be available for purchase through the museum gift shop. The event is included with entry.
